The three ball seems to have abandoned us I expect we will get back some of it. Who are are bombers now Harden Ego Brown Wood Bmac House Who else should we look to step up Rocket River
How bout they step inside the 3 PT line and get in position to crash the boards when Harden out there dancing with the ball...
That's sort of antithetical to spreading the floor, but there is plenty more they can do. We've seen some of it already, and I agree that just chucking is frustrating. Shooting threes, PNR, cuts, motion... these aren't exclusive to each other. Sounds like Silas didn't like what he saw tonight, so for now I'm not worried. Tonight reminded me of the Lakers series.
I wish Harden could activate his midrange game rather than relying so much on 3pts and layups. He creates so much space with his footwork and also uses his body strength really well.
Brown, Tucker and Harden are all shooting >40% from 3. Everyone else is 33.3% or below. https://www.espn.com/nba/team/stats/_/name/hou/table/game/sort/threePointPct/dir/desc
Tucker needs to raise his volume. If he catch it in the corner .. . shoot it. . . . Don't fake Don't drive Rocket River
this will be another year of bricks...Brown, Tucker, and Harden’s percentages will all decrease, and we’ll be trotting out a brick layer brigade every night like we always do...only difference is that so far it looks like we won’t be taking as many three point attempts as we have in the past right now, we’re currently 8th in attempts
Motion can be good but not for guys like Tucker and House to an extent. House can at least get to the rim if he doesn't travel or lose the ball on the way there. Is Silas intentionally telling guys like Tucker to pump fake and dribble by their man? It works for teams with versatile offensive players but not with guys like Tucker, etc. I am actually asking you this question because I don't know much about what Silas is trying to accomplish on offense. Is it similar to what Dallas did last season? If so, what do we need to do better to be as efficient as Dallas was last season? Is it personnel or should Silas learn to adapt the offense based off our personnel? Love to see guys like Tate, Nwaba, Brown, Gordon, House pump fake a three and get into an open lane to drive it or dish but it seems a turnover soon follows if one of these guys passes on an open three. When a TO happens, I see the value of shooting it when you are open and the MDA Rockets never had an issue firing away so I assume Silas is telling them to pass on semi-open shots and try to look for something better?
Yes, Silas wants all players to be triple threats. So every player on the floor should be a threat from 3, threat to drive to basket, threat to playmake. But you are absolutely correct, the personnel on this team especially starting 5 do not have the required skillsets. Tucker is elite as a corner shooter, he should not be encouraged to attack the rim or take midrange shots. And House should not be encouraged to be a playmaker, this is not his strength. House should be focusing on what he does best, rebounding, iso defense and shooting 3ball.
