He started for the 31st best team in the world!

It doesn't quite have the same effect when we put it that way.

Even if it didn’t… he’s defense and hustle should give him the start.

    KPJ/aug
    Green/j cris
    Tate/nwaba
    Wood/grub
    Segun /theis

    No EG!?!?

Crazy take... but EG may get the start over Green for the first half while they look to move him. Frankly, if Green doesn't mind then I'm cool with it too. Also, pretty good chance EG injures himself so it's a moot point.

There’s a higher chance that Deshaun Watson starts for the Texans this year then Green coming off the bench for the Rockets.

I wouldn't argue this. Talent-wise he deserves to be on any team in the league.

I did say crazy take, who knows with Tilman. However, I do think those odds are reversed considering Green could miss time and have to work his way back in off the bench.

We need Gordon to start, more power offensively.

That drives me crazy too! If dudes would just block out and then attack the rebound we will be much better in that area.

The NBA may have more talented, more athletic players with more potential, but the youngest, worst team in the NBA would not be a shoe in against the best international teams. Even team USA has lost games to international teams. I’d be interested to see that. Make the NBA a global league and implement relegation!

I mean, technically he does make any team in the league better because all teams have at least 3 or 4 league minimum types of guys and Wall at his worst is still better than all those guys which speaks to your point. That being said, he likely won't make any team better than has to ship out $40mil+/yr of talent to acquire him. To put it another way, here are the players who have a supermax in the league:
Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, John Wall, and Giannis

Wall isn't anywhere in the conversation with any of those players - save for Westbrook who is equally inefficient but still manages to play more and generally do more on the court than Wall. You gotta get down into the late 20s/early 30s in terms of highest paid NBA contracts to find a player who may have a similar on court impact as Wall and that's a $10mil difference between their contracts and Wall's contract.

He made the leap from the 31st best team last year to the 30th, and now you're saying that his former team might have actually been better?

The more people try to hype up Garuba, the worse it gets for him.

Gordon may start, but it'll be over Tate.

That sounds most likely, go with the 3 guard lineup. Although leaves the 2nd unit unbalanced offensively. See how Sengun does as the main offensive option off the bench?

Yup. A ton of it depends on how Christopher shows out. Hopefully he can be a contributor from the jump, providing an offensive spark off the bench. If that's the approach, I could see them starting Gordon until he is traded, then (if he is ready) sliding Christopher into the starting lineup.

Yes, but some combination with Tate, Garuba, Martin, and Josh Christopher all on the 2nd unit will be all havoc all the time.

But it sounds great when you realize the #1 pick played for like the 100th best team in the world right?

Garuba played alongside guys who declined NBA offers, and on the national team with NBA players. He broke through every age bracket faster than Doncic.

Extremely underrated, especially if he can shoot.
