Starters: Harden - Westbrook - House - Tucker - Capela --- Maybe sometimes EGo Next Tier Bench Players: Austin Rivers - Tyson Chandler - Isaiah Hartenstein - Chris Clemons - Gerald Greens Last Tier Bench Players: Ben McLemore - Thabo Sefolosha - (TW) - Gary Clark Unknown: Nenê Michael Frazier (TW) We need at least 20 points a game off the bench At least 5~8 assists At least 10~15 rebounds Which Players have the best shot at getting this? I know I know I been banging the Harty bell for a minute but I like several things about him 1. Size - he has the height 2. Touch - seems like he can shoot 3. Energy - He is a try hard Clemons lacks size but i am liking his effort. I want Clark to get some burn too I missed McLemore's better games so i am jaded but i do not like his game Rocket River
I think we're just going to have to suffer until EG gets back. We are stuck with McClemore I doubt Clark is much better at D on the perimeter and probably can't shoot better.... I love Clemons and ihart and wish coach would just play them.
Fact of the matter there is no bench. Harden-Westbrook-House-Tucker-Capela Clark-Hartenstein-Clemons-Frazier: Coach will NOT PLAY (barring injury/blowout) Chandler-Sefolosha: RETIREMENT (Anything you get out of these guys, consider a bonus) Nene-Green: OUT INDEFINITELY Gordon: INJURED Rivers-McLemore: Scrubby (McLemore is a scrub and does NOT make Gordon expendable and Rivers lowkey bad -- 40/30/68/8 pts ... in 17 games, just in double figures 5 times. 4 points tonight)
Our bench needs real work right now without Gordon. Per stats we're the lowest in the league in ppg from the bench, I'm not a huge stats expert but I did find numbers. Bench PPG league rankings (Houston last right now) https://stats.nba.com/teams/traditional/?StarterBench=Bench&SeasonType=Regular Season&sort=PTS&dir=-1 But we're 11th in +/- before this game, which is good. https://stats.nba.com/teams/traditional/?StarterBench=Bench&SeasonType=Regular Season&sort=PLUS_MINUS&dir=-1 Our bench is second to last in regular FG% https://stats.nba.com/teams/traditional/?StarterBench=Bench&SeasonType=Regular Season&sort=FG_PCT&dir=-1 And 21st in three point% https://stats.nba.com/teams/traditional/?StarterBench=Bench&SeasonType=Regular Season&sort=FG3_PCT&dir=-1 Long story short, if teams keep hitting us with the hard double to Harden every play we need the bench to step up and be consistent to make other teams respect thier offense.
LOL - dude, I am not kidding I can't stand to even watch him play it is so bad, he is out of control, can't shoot, but his ego and stature get him 20 shots a game. He is single handidly making this team way worse....and he is not going to be getting better. DD
We have a bench, RR? Our coach doesn’t seem to think so, not really. He views our bench as consisting of two players, Rivers and McLemore, who were a combined 2 for 13 shooting, producing an amazing 4 points, and looking up at their defenders the entire time. Not really a bench. More like a love seat. The other 5 guys are clearly supposed to be paid cheerleaders. MDA stands there with arms akimbo, delighting in watching our star player wearing himself down trying to do everything. The fellow must consider Sefolosa too old, Clark and Hartenstein too young, with the equally young Clemons being too short. Production must not enter into his calculations. Hartenstein and Clemons have produced recently when given the chance. Clark has never been given the chance this season, not that I can recall. Meanwhile, the bench of Dallas was not only producing, but running wild. Not a fun game to watch. No, not fun at all. Time for another Pacifico.
Operation don’t panic. Get back to playing elite defense... Everything works when we get in transition. (Play faster too)
Guys our bench should be #30 Gordon averages 16 ppg and Gerald Avgs 9 or 10 points Thats 40 just between those 2. We are going to struggle but that's ok the Team needs to learn to win with what we have. They will be fine we have to learn to play a bit more disciplined eliminate careless mistakes
I like @PWR's idea of switching the stagger with Russ and Harden. Resting Harden first then letting Harden run with the 2n unit. It's a simple change that would automatically boost the bench and let Russ run with better players and shooters.
If the G League MVP cannot get consistent run . . . . .. what makes us think ANY G Leaguer would? Rocket River
