could be the 05 courting all over again, and if he didn't stay then, i don't know why he'd stay now, but if we trade for beltran, i hope keeping him around to be our DH for the next couple years is strongly considered.
Not necessarily... Get to the playoffs in baseball and odd things happen. Like everything else it comes down to the cost.
Those guys (with the exception of the high upside guys of Bregman and Gurriel) have shown consistency in the past. Seems like every time we get in position to impact a game its always the Gomez or Castro that brings things to a halt. Eliminating the kinks and adding a decent starter would be the moves this team needs.
Would love to add a front of the rotation type But to be honest, the only AL rotation that is clearly better than ours, especially among likely playoff teams, is Cleveland
It wasn't Gomez or Castro that batted with the bases loaded twice today and couldn't drive anybody in today. Just saying..
I would be fine giving a Kemp/B Rodgers type of prospect along with maybe another low A type guy, for Beltran. If the cost is higher I would be out
What sort of prospects have the Yankees gotten in trades thus far? I believe the Astros could deal Hernandez if they want somebody on the cusp.
Yep, the time is now. I do have high hopes for Teo next year though. Pitching is what the Stros need... pitcher catcher (Gattis? Castro? Somebody?) Reed Altuve Yuli Correa Bregman Teo/Jake Springer Somebody at DH That's a stacked lineup.
Gattis and "somebody" at catcher would be fine, IF we get at least a middle of the pack DH. We can't continue to run out bottom of the league DHs and be a top2-3 offense. We are middle of the pack as it is, yet we are not that far from being league best if we can do a little something
