Who would blame him?? Last chance on a big pay check and getting a starting job. Go for it!!! Tinsane in the membrance!!
Everyone as in you and the three other racist LOFs? Mkay. I would care... why? Unlike yourselves I don't derive my self-esteem from basketball players or BBS posts.
Or...every player with an option is going to opt-out because of the anticipated increase in the salary cap?
No...I mean everyone as in everyone who reads this board. Even the Lin haters are laughing, they just don't want to say anything because they are embarrassed to be associated with you. Glad your self-esteem is intact, because this much laughter could really do some damage if you let it get to you. Kudos for being strong enough to take it!
The cap is obviously going to explode so if I had to guess I'd say Brooklyn or Philadelphia pay him $10m. They're both point guard desperate and will overpay. He should probably pick Brooklyn because Philly fans will eat him up and spit him out the second he does his Linconsistent routine. I don't think Lin could handle it whereas Brooklyn is starless, hopeless, and they will pretty much take whatever entertainment they can get.
I would bring him back. To run MDA offense we need a ball handler that can penetrate well enough to draw attention so he can then dish it out. Lin's penetration is strong enough to set up a wing player for a shot.
He's obsolete. If you ain't even a smidgen of Curry and Thompson, you're obsolete. You can't shoot and it's game over.
haven't checked CF in a couple of days, but just stumbled on to the Lin thread count. This is a little like catching your car speedometer turning over 100K miles. Only more pathetic. Actually, I think checking the Lin thread periodically is more like rubber-necking a bad traffic accident on the interstate.
I think it depends on the position offered, be it a starter or bench player. He would have very few options/offers to be a starter from the league but if he nailed one, it would be over 10m per year with a shorter term (3 years perhaps?). He would have tons of offer as a bench player. If he couldn't get a starter job else where, he would probably stay with Hornets at around 5m per year (the MLE?). I hope he would consider Spurs though (if there's an offer).
My guess is Hornets 3 years 18 mil, but I'm hopeful of the slight chance that he goes to an up-and-coming team as a double-digit millions per year starter, like the Magic or the Knicks.
