Started watching this morning. Happy to see this. Women's draw is always wide open (Serena got beat the very first round last year) It kind of sucks that Novak and Nadal could meet in the semi's instead of the finals. Bummer about Murray not being there. Crazy match going on now with Venus and Urszula Radwanska (the blond one).
I was disappointed that the Direct TV mix of channels didn't have the Gulbis match on. I wanted to watch that one. The Monfils vs. Berdych match is interesting.
Tommy Robredo is an amazing story this open. I'd adopt him as one of my favorite players if only he didn't wear shorts that are too short. They're not the Stockton short shorts, but they are like 1992 tennis shorts that are just too short.
really thought Kuzzy was gonna close that match out againist Serena but Serena showed why she is a champion, and perhaps the greatest womens player in the open era p4p
Always liked Tsonga, looks like his slimming up is paying dividends. Would have been nice to see Murray and Nadal go at it in the final.
I think I've asked this before, but can anyone explain why so many of these tennis tournaments match up 1vs3 and 2vs4 in the semifinals? It seems like a disadvantage to be ranked #1 because you theoretically have to beat 2 and 3 to win the tournament.

The idea is that 1 will be the top on one side of the bracket and 2 will be the top on the other side of the bracket so they can meet in the finals. But what happens is that sometimes a player will be injured and that messes everything up. Murray is out because of injury, and Nadal has been injured a lot and so his ranking is lower than it would normally be. Because of that Novak could meet Nadal in the Semis if both make it there.
I'm not 100% surprised that Tsonga won, though I it wasn't what I expected. I am totally amazed that he took Federer out in three sets.
I understand the players might not be ranked where they should, and that messes things up. But shouldn't you still have 2vs3 and 1vs4? Why give a disadvantage to #1 by making them playing a tougher opponent - especially when there was a big-3 before Murray started establishing himself a bit?
was arguing with a buddy, he says he would have liked to have seen him vs. muster or borg. i told him he would have mopped the floor with either of them. you know who is a top 5 clay court player of all-time who will never be talked about as such: roger federer. made like 6 or 7 finals, as well as getting knocked out in semis and quarters a couple times. guy was just victim of playing at same time as Clay GOAT.
