We can get them in Round 2. The ideal scenario is the 2nd seed and a first round matchup against the Mavs, Suns, or Warriors(hopefully the Grizz miss the playoffs altogether). Then the Spurs in the 2nd round(or whomever upsets them if that were to happen). If we can avoid the Clips and Thunder til the Conference Finals, then at least we only have to deal with one of those teams at most.
You are correct. However, I don't think we've played our best ball yet. If Asik accepts his role and gets into shape, we should be able to compete with the best of them.
Home, road, the way the Rockets are playing right now it means little. They seem to just will their way to victory. The emergence of Dwight in the Rockets offense is a complete game changer. Asik getting back into game shape should round out perhaps the most solid roster in the NBA. No need to fear MEM and IND anymore.
*******, how do people STILL not understand how seedings work in the NBA? It's been the same way for almost a decade at this point...
Champions don't run from adversity, the Rockets will take em all on. Let their fans worry about us not the other way around.
When Asik returns to full form defensively Memphis, Clippers and Dallas aren't all that scary at all.
I don't want Clippers at all. They are the worst match up They have two vastly superior players at the position of weakest strength for the Rockets i.e. PG and PF Chris Paul is infinitely better than Bev or Lin Blake Griffin is playing at an MVP level and will man handle Jones or DMO Then they have DJ, who is a great defensive guy. His length will give Howard trouble.
Dallas would be this team's easiest matchup of anybody... yes, they have Nowitski/Ellis as weapons... but very little bench production, very little interior defense to matchup with Howard or prevent Harden from getting to the rim, and zero answer for Parsons. Remember, this team "should" have beaten them the game they had the big 4th quarter collapse, and did beat them without Harden on the road.
We should aim for 58 wins which is very possible. I think this team can achieve a 22-7 record after the All Star Break since we are on a roll right now.
Don't want to celebrate too soon because shi1 could change in a heartbeat. Gotta love the Wild Wild West.
