Reds blow out the Giants 9-0 to take both games at San Fran and head back to Cincy needing just 1 of the 3 home games.

As a Reds fan I like there chances to get to the World Series this season. Strong starting pitching and bullpen with good offense. Guys like Phillips, Bruce and Ludwick are already pff to fast starts in the postseason. If Votto can find his swing during the postseason than this offense can really match their pitching.

Also looked like they avoided a scare with Cueto expected to be ready for game 4 if necessary and thus the back spasms that forced him out of game one should not be a problem moving forward.

Giants take game three in extra innings, still down 2-1.

Game 3 was huge for Cincinnati because of Cueto's injury. It's a shame because Baily pitched a gem and has nothing to show for it. With Cueto's back still bothering him Cincy made the decison to activate Leake for today's game thus deactivating Cueto meaning he can't rejoin the club until the World Series if they go that far. There was a good chance that if the Reds would have won game 3, that with the time off until the Championship Series Cueto should have been ready to pitch by than. But now because the Reds lost game three they were forced to activate Leake and lose Cueto for the next series.

Buster Posey with a killer shot to Cincy.

BTW, when did Pence become this rah-rah, fire-up-the-troops guy?

Reds with the near comeback but not quite.

Down 0-2, Giants win the series.

I thought Bruce was going to poke one for sure in the bottom of the 9th with 2 men on for the walk off. He got the pitch count up to 12 with the last pitch being dead center and just missed getting all of it and flied out to center. Knew it was over then even though it was only the second out and Rolen was up next.

Cueto going down ending up costing the team. Leake was horrid in game 4. If Cueto was able to go I have to think we win that game and end the series right their. The offense just disapeared when the series came back to Cincinnati for the Reds. Tough to explain especially when they were so effective at San Fran.
