So, so stupid that there's no off day between Game 5 of the ALDS and Game 1 of the ALCS. I still don't get why they couldn't have waited until next year with the realignment to introduce the 2nd Wildcard team.

Raul Ibanez, holy smokes. MVP of the postseason thus far, no? No doubt the Yankees MVP.

Alex Rodriguez, give that guy your contract, ha.

Tigers take Game 1. Bad news for the Yanks, not only they lost today's game, they might also lose Derek Jeter with a ankle injury.

Broken ankle for Jeter per Girardi and he's done for the year.

Yikes! :( Hate to see that.

It's amazing how bad he is when given a big lead.

It would be interesting if they play A-Rod at SS now. I'd have to watch that as must see TV.

Can't see that happening, and for now it sounds like it's going to be Jayson Nix.

Really, it'll be interesting to see how long it will take for Girardi to bench A-Rod for the rest of the series. No lefty starters for Detroit and Eric Chavez still rakes vs. RHP (.298/.365/.543) and is probably an upgrade defensively. Yanks are on even thinner ice now without Jeter, they can't afford to worry about Rodriguez's ego much longer.

Hard to imagine the Yankees winning this series after dropping game 1. There is just too much going against them at this point.

Jeter was one of the few guys in their lineup making solid contact and now he's gone, they are being forced to bring back Hiroki Kuroda on short rest and the Tigers still have Justin Verlander at their disposal.

Phil Coke closes the door on his former team. Tigers win 3-0. Tigers up 2-0 heading back to Detroit.

Yankees got Verlander in game 3. You can prob book that for Detroit also. lol

I've never seen a team like the Yankees with that amount of talent slump this bad with all of those hitters.

I've seen a lot of greediness too out of Yankees fans.

With Jeter done, it doesn't really look good for a Yankees comeback anyway.

Yankees are done. With Verlander pitching game three in Copa that game is going to be all Tigers. Than its just a matter of winning one of the last 4 games. Tigers beat the Yankees on their way to the Wrold Series in 06, and again to go to the ALCS last season. They will get by the Yankees once more this season.

Remember when the Astros had Randy Johnson?

    Automatic win against Sterling Hitchcock.

While I don't know the specifics on that game. I couldn't imagine the Astor's opponents had as inept a hitting lineup as the the Yankees have coming into the Tigers series. All the Yanks big bats (Cano, A-Rod, Tex, Granderson and Swisher) are cold and the heart of that team (Jeter) is out for the postseason.

    Yankee's are done.

Tigers are my only hope this year. Please no NY, SF, or StL.

Maybe they'll break out if tonight. You only need one run to win a baseball game.
