Damn, so this year it is in Detroit and in 2007 it is in Miami. Where is it in 08 and 09?

Cant believe they would give it to them again that quickly. Doesn't make sense to me honestly.

    This sucks.....

I thought we put on a great superbowl a few years ago..... How does Miami land one 3 years later??

I heard that McNair being on some comitte had something to do with this decision and the last one..... I just dont understand why.

    Maybe 2011..... :(

I hope there is a blizzard in Detroit this year, just to show the NFL that they need to select a few sites for the SB to be played at every year and just stick with it...... Detroit is going to suck for the players and fans.....

Detroit is a dome... it may be cold for the fans going from site to site, but it isn't a problem since it is a dome.

I don't think ppl at the NFL offices want the Superbowl here, because the city is pretty ugly and there is virtually nothing to do here for tourists. Except maybe The Mens Club.

Actually, McNair is the head of the committee on revenue sharing and suposedly he is not making any friends while in that position as he is having to make some hard decisions. Something in the Chronicle was in it a few weeks ago. It has nothing to do with the city being "pretty ugly", as everyone had a great time last time. As far as tourist attractions, when there are Super Bowl parties every night, local attractions really don't matter. As long as you have shopping areas for the wives, plenty of golf courses for the owners, and strip clubs for the players you are all set. Houston has that taken care of for sure.

Take McNair out of that position and I am sure our chances of getting it again will increase.

i guess even in the NFL owners group you have office politics

all the low revenue owners have black balled mcnair and thus the city of houston.

Miami is a great city, certainly more appealing than Houston to the general public. Florida has great weather that's why they keep getting the Super Bowl.

On 610, McNair said what did Houston in was Miami sweetening the pot by offering all 32 owners use of a their own private, minimum-100 foot yacht to sail anywhere they choose during Super Bowl weekend

So it appears these multimillionare owners, many of whom could own a fleet of yacht's, were bought over with the temptation of a free yacht.

If this is what Super Bowl bidding has come too, Houston, Dallas, Detroit, Phoenix, Atlanta cant compete with Miami's, San Diego's, and soon LA's and NY's (retractable roofed stadium on the way) of the world. Before, I thought us second teir cities had a chance. Not anymore.
