So much about Lakers' preferential treatment. Nobody gets hurt more than LeBron if Kobe wins another FMVP. Stern is doing his best to prevent that from happening.
HAHA GOOD ONE! Please tell me this is just an act. I'll lose faith in humanity if there are really people this stupid. The Lakers are by far the most money-producing team for the NBA, because everyone loves them or hates them. Stern would have them in the Finals every year if he could; as it is, they are in there 1/2 the time which seems a wee bit fishy, doesn't it?
So you are saying the number is fake, or Stern is helping Lakers by taking the opposition to free throw line? Stop your clown antics when you don't have an argument.
When asked about Finals matchups last year, Stern said on LIVE TV the most preferred Finals is the Lakers vs anybody else. He said it jokingly but he was being honest in how the Lakers in the spotlight helps their bottom line.
This chart is good because it allows me to make judgments on teams and games without ever having to watch a basketball game!
Wow, you really are this dense. So you believe every team should get equal numbers of FTs; it has nothing to do with how they play?
It is hard for Kobe fans to come to grips with the facts that he is a manufactured superstar, a byproduct of the league's desperate need to keep the Lakers in the spotlight.
Anyone who just looks at the free throw disparity to determine whether a game is being called "fairly" or not is an idiot. That's a fact. If the refs went on a mission to take out LeBron, or make him play with as little aggression as possible by calling touch fouls on him, but gave the Cavs a +15 free throw advantage over the opposing team to "make up" for it, the Cavs would still have a hard time winning. Same with Ray Allen in game 1 of the finals. The fouls being called against him were all questionable, allowing him to play about 12 minutes of basketball that actually mattered. By the 4th quarter with the Lakers up 20, the refs realized it would be a good idea to let him play so his minutes don't look too suspicious. The point is--and I'm sure all intelligent and responsible fans know--that there is more to a game than the box score. And not surprisingly, one may have to actually watch the games to realize which team is benefiting from what. Believe it or not, the refs control the momentum of the game. Laker trolls try to argue that the Gasol trade was "fair" because Marc Gasol is turning out to be a solid player, but that's logically fallacy. If you traded me your Mercedes for my Pokemon cards, I win in the short-run. However, and just because the cards may have more value later on for whatever reasons, it does not make the initial trade an equal one, especially if the trade has a negative impact on others (other teams). Trading unproven assets for proven asset is a suspicious one at the very least. I'm too lazy to get into it much further, but, yes, if Stern gave a team a much-needed, proven all-star for a #15 pick or whatever, and that team goes on to win the championship, it's suspect. It doesn't matter if that #15 pick goes on to be an all-star 3 years later. Anyway, I don't like the Lakers or Celtics, and would enjoy the Finals much more if it were a match-up between any other two teams (besides Clippers and Nets), but we'll just have to put up with it.
Gasol had great stats on a bad team. and it translated when he traded. who knows if Bosh and even Lopez are that good?? I mean when your team sucks, somebody has to score points.
So your expert conclusion, after watching the same games that we all are watching, is that the NBA fixes every game for the Lakers? You didn't come right out and say that, but that's what you seem to be implying?
RA tried to pull a Bowen and wasn't called foul for it. He should be thankful he wasn't suspended for his unnatural basketball move.
Yeah, that's what I said . Definitely. Lakers for the 10-peat. I used the Lakers because they are easily the most criticized team in the league, and it's pretty obvious how they went from 1st round and out to 3 straight finals appearances without giving up anything significant. I am not anymore of an expert than many of the fans here. In fact, I'm relatively new. Maybe an expert compared to you, but nothing out of the ordinary fan. Unlike you, it seems, we can make our own analysis and judgment(s) instead of just looking at 10 fouls and 12 fouls and say "WOWW!!@!@!".
You have got to be kidding me. First of all, link me to a better quality zoom-up of that play. Don't say you don't have it because you are accusing Ray Allen of treason, and I want to see your case. Second, it looks more like Kobe is flopping than anything else. Ray Allen is one of the most respectable players in the game. Kobe? Yeah, let's not forget all the elbows he "accidentally" throws and the knee he gave Shane Battier last year.
