So The orioles 2009 lineup looks like it is stocked with old faces who go to baltimore and flourish after leaving here...Huff and Albers had nice seasons, 108 RBI for Huff. Sarfate also has a nice heater he can develop into a nice backend guy I think, but here's what they got....anyone you wish we had back??

    Ty Wigginton
    Luke Scott
    Aubrey Huff
    Matt Albers
    Troy Patton
    Dennis Sarfate
    Greg Zaun

Im still sticked off wigginton signed for 2 years and $3M per year, wtf, I hate drayton he is one cheap SOB for saving that $2.5M and paying boone.

I wish we had Scott, and never got Carlos Lee. We would have a better defender in LF, and be still getting good offensive production(assuming Scott wasn't a fluke last year as a full-timer). We would then have more money to have spent this offseason, and who knows what kind of prospect we may have drafted and maybe signed.

You're comparing Luke Scott's offense to Carlos Lee's??? jajajajaja. That's too funny.

Didn't call it equal. I said good production. The value is much better in my opinion, especially with Lee's injuries. I think you missed my point. I would take Scott, and a #2 pitcher over Lee.

The popular thought is that Uncle D is a cheap vato, but he really isn't. The guy just doesn't know where the money should be going. He is a business man right? he does know that cheap labor is a good thing?
    I'm with Juicystream on this one...scott and a #2 pitcher>tejada/ lee.

Lee's injuries? He broke a finger on a HBP, other than that he has been relatively injury free in his career. Compare that to Scott's tweaks, strains and pulls during his Astro years.

The appropriate comparison would be Luke Scott + $17MM vs. Carlos Lee.

Hell, when you put it that way. I forgot all about losing Tejada. That would provide us with somewhere in the neighborhood of $30 million. That could have got us even more than just one starter.

So in other words, the 2006 Astros?

How soon we all forget the offensive futility of the former Astros....

so you're saying you never went to academy to buy an NL championship shirt, only to find out that they were all sold out?

Even in 2006, they fell short 1 game of the cardinals. Sure, last season's team was a joy to watch, but I'm just trying to save Uncle D some money. Lose out by one game at the cost of $85 million dollars or lose out by one game at a cost of $93 million dollars?

who knows, by this season, we will probably no longer have the $1 dollar hot dogs promotion. =(

Injuries? He's only had one. There was never an offer Scott and a #2 pitcher. Lee was a Silver Slugger in 07 and he was a beast last year leading the NL in RBI before he broke his pinkie. Scott doesn't hold a candle value wise. Nor is he a force like Lee.

Drayton didn't decide on that to save 2.5M.

Wigginton wasn't going to get 2 yrs at 3 mil per year in arbitration from us.

Learn before you say stupid things
