I was bored and i was looking at the mockdrafts for 2008. And this is what i get currently. HoopsHype- have the Rox drafting a 5"11 PG- DJ Augustin at no.14. http://www.hoopshype.com/draft.htm Just what the doctor order, another pint size PG. And this website was just updated 2 weeks ago.
Interesting to see the number 30 Pick is from Australia. I live in Sydney so i watch the NBL often. Im not even sure if Nathan Jawaii is Australia. I know he went to the AIS here which is the Australian Institute of Sport so i think he may be. He is a monster though.
Now I am confused... I have seen Deandre Jordan go as high as 3rd, and as low as... 2nd round?! Hmm... Someone is screwing up.
DeAndre is a guaranteed 1st round pick on potential alone with his size and athleticism. Check out his dunk from yesterday ... http://youtube.com/watch?v=RGW0zoGGpvQ
I never say drafts are deep. But this draft is deep. 4 or 5 potential franchise players (assuming they declare).
Uhhh... yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... Brandon Rush's final year in college: 11.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.1 spg, .9 bpg, shot 43%. Josh Howard's final year in college: 19.5 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg, 2.1 spg, 1.5 bpg, shot 48%. Howard also has the advantage on Points Per Minute: .6 to .45 Not to mention Howard was a better on-ball defender, too.
Just imagine Beasley and Jefferson. Frontcourt of the future. Durant and Gordon uuugggghhhh that is too nasty.
He's coming off major knee injury. Same story as Carl Landry. This guy has skills. He'll be a major NBA player.
Agreed. He's got a great motor, big-league size and strength, and a great knowledge of the game. But I'm not sure if he'd be that much different from Scola, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him stay in school.
Unless he gets some height, I dont see his game translating. Nice footwork without athleticism. He has really good skills but athletic defenders are going to trouble him. i see him like Spencer Hawes or McRoberts
Were you a Tyler Hansborough fan a few years ago, too? Love just strikes me as too slow to be anything but a role player in the NBA. there's certainly potential. Beasly is just a beast. Obviously, Derrick Rose and OJ. Then a bunch of players who could be all-stars at some point in their careers. Jordan, Donte Green, the international players, etc.
I know Gordon has the stats, but watching him play, I think he's just too small. Not too small for the NBA, but too small for a 2 guard. I'd love to be proved wrong. Obviously, he's as big as Dwayne Wade and it's worked for him. But then, though he wasn't scoring as much, Dwayne was doubling Gordon's rebounds and assists in college. Basically, I think Gordon needs to either prove he can run a team as a point, or prove he can be more than just a really athletic but undersized SG to be a real impact player in the NBA.
His height, "nice footwork", lack of athleticism, high IQ= young Elton Brand. Plays nothing like Hawes or McRoberts IMO. But ya, they are white...
Who ever said Elton Brand lacked athleticism? Here are some scouts takes on him from when he was drafted. http://www.ibiblio.org/craig/draft/1999_draft/Players/brand.html You'll notice comments like: "his athleticism and skill may adequately compensate for his height." Not that NBAdraft.net is all that accurate all the time, but here is their take on Love: http://www.nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/kevinlove.html His biggest weakness: "Thick legs anchor him to the floor to a degree, especially with regard to foot speed and transition game ... Has decent quickness, but lacks great speed in the open floor ..." ------ I'm not saying he can't be a good NBA player. But at some point, the strengths of "great basketball IQ and feel for the game" and "Has a passion and toughness to his game that so many big men lack" only take you so far.
You got me then. I genuinely thought Brand lacked quickness and vertical coming out. Played below the rim. Ill give it to you..
