Everybody knows Rose is going to be a home run pick. Seeing he has a 40-inch vertical and one of the fastest sprint times only makes him all the more tantalizing.

Very surprised by Alexander's speed. If Hardin can be had with a move up into the top of the 2nd round or down to the bottom of the first I'd take a chance on him.

As the draft gets closer, I'm feeling like Mayo might be a better #2 pick than Beasley.

Didn't Steve Francis test out with a 43" vertical?

Players I like up and down the draft board outside of the big 2.

    Mayo
    Westbrook
    Alexander
    Rush
    CDR
    Hudson
    Hairston

I guess they both have the tweener label, right?

They're both incredible talents but if i'm Minnesota i'd consider Mayo and McCants to be redundant. Maybe Mayo is an NBA PG, maybe he's not. If he's not how many 6'4" SG's can you have? I'd trade down if i'm Minnesota and the draft goes as expected.

I really hate the idea of Beasley slipping to Minnesota then having to deal with a Jefferson/Beasley/Brewer frontcourt for years. That's for damn sure.

Beasley's 7.7% body fat is NOT high. Come on.

I think Wade, Marion, Mayo has a better mix than Wade, Marion, Beasley. Especially considering the way it's a guard's game these days. Also, don't forget about Marion's ego. Adding Beasley in the same SF/PF role and giving him the spotlight and the touches could eventually send Shawn into a hissy fit and blow up any chemistry.

That and Beasley's immatury gives me pause. In his recent draftexpress interview he basically said you can't expect him to be mature because he's only 19. What he should be saying is that he's an adult, he's had a year of college, and he's ready to accept the responsibility that comes with being a professional.

I wouldn't be worried about the possibility of Marion being unhappy since he's a free agent after next year. He's essentially a $17 million dollar expiring contract and bargaining chip for the Heat to land Wade a big man to pair up with.

Wade at SG, Beasley at SF, ________ at PF

Could this work? Can Beasley defend wing players well enough or is he just a four in a three's body? If he can transition to SF like Melo did I would pull the trigger.

Mayo at PG, Wade at SG, Marion at SF

I see what you're saying with Mayo, I just question whether he's is a real NBA PG or not. Not hating just saying his handle and playmaking ability didn't stand out to me.

Basically you're stuck with two "tweeners" on Miami either way. Either you have two average playmakers in your backcourt with Mayo/Wade or two 3/4 tweeners playing the same position in Beasley/Marion. It's a tough call.

Mayo at PG, Wade at SG, Marion at SF, Haslem at PF, Blount at C

That's pretty good in the East, in my opinion. They'll need to shore up the bench though, because it's pretty raw. Daequan Cook, Dorrell Wright, Marcus Banks, Smush Parker doesn't exactly scream solid. Wright has shown promise though, so I would groom him to replace Marion (once he's traded for a big man).

Actually, Draftexpress bungled the fastest agility thing. Demarcus Nelson is in first at 10.52 over Weems.

I don't see how Beasley's higher body fat is a bad thing. Thats probably the easiest thing to correct. It can also be a positive.

It's a bad thing in that it indicates of lack a work ethic and maturity in preparation of the draft. Especially if it's the "easiest thing to correct", like you said, then there is no excuse for him to come into the biggest physical and job interview of his life in this situation. He's obviously talented enough and skilled enough to be a all-star level player, that was never in question. What has been in question is his maturity and professionalism. For some teams/people, this may reinforce some negative perceptions.

Maturity? Hes 19. Why be in shape now anyways, he should relax, this is the only duration in the forseeable future in which he will be unemployed. He should enjoy life. The NBA teams staff where he is drafted will have him finely tuned in no time. Body fat in that degree is all about diet. Maybe he is struggling to find the time and means to eat properly in such a hectic time. Yada yada yada

Gotta admit I'm surprised Derrick Rose is that short. He played bigger than his height in college. Oh well, my notion of him playing either backcourt position in the NBA is out the window.

Anyone else surprised that Beasley is only 6'7"??!! Thought people were selling him to be 6'10". Now, can anyone tell me who would use first pick on him when Derrick Rose is available? And whoever hoped Rose would be able to play combo guard, the dude's got all the tools to be full-time PG, why ask him to play the 2 spot too? Real PGs are hard to come by in the league, and Rose is physically capable. Measuring 6'2" without shoes and a solid 195 lbs, dude can play both ends of the floor. He might turn out to be a slightly smaller Deron Williams with more athleticism. Don't disappoint me Rose!

ROFL @ Keith's sad, sad, and ridicululously sad combine results.
    Winspan shorter than his height
    27 inch vertical

Too bad if only he would've stayed and didn't do stupid things he might've had a chance to be a star at OK State and possibly hype himself into the draft.....
tisch tisch..... Oh well god speed Keith

I'm pretty impressed with these results

Kevin Love measured out reasonably well—6-9 ½ in shoes (6-7 ¾ without), with a 6-11 ¼ wingspan and an 8-10 standing reach. His body fat is still very high at 12.9%, but in the combine he jumped 35 inches, lifted the 185 bar 18 times, and ran very well (11.17, 3.22)

O.J. Mayo is 6-3 ¼ without shoes, 6-4 ½ with, with a 6-6 wingspan and 8-3 standing reach. He had the second best vertical leap at 41 inches and ran 11.04 and 3.14.

Eric Gordon is 6-3 ¼ in shoes, with a terrific 6-9 wingspan. He jumped 40 inches, lifted the bar 15 times, and ran 10.81 and 3.01. He plays like a great athlete, and tested out well too.

    what happened to Hibbert?
