Just a shout to remind you guys that the Art Car Parade is tomorrow (Saturday, May 10) at 1pm on Allen Parkway. If you've never been, it's pretty cool with lots of weirdness and a TON of attractive women (no, seriously). If you are a photographer, go early and shoot pictures of the cars and the odd folks. My band is playing on one of the floats. Should be fun.
Jeff, were you at teh Stargazer event at the Bayou tonight? i remember you were there last year. i went tonight. i was a little disappointed though, thought there'd be more to it.
No, but my photography partner was there shooting for the Buffalo Bayou Partnership. If I didn't have the parade tomorrow, I would've gone.
Did Mark Bradford get 1st place again? I was friends with that guy back when I still lived in Houston. Really talented artist.
I didn't attend the actual parade, but saw a lot of the cars driving through the area (I live in River Oaks, which is on the way to the event for many of the cars...). Some very cool stuff. Looked like good fun
Some day you are going to have to let your hair down and fully experience a liberal hippie love fest -- remember it doesn't count unless you smell patchouli and arm pit. You haven't really lived until you've seen a 1985 Civic hatchback with plastic dinosaurs and glitter glued all over it up close -- pure magic.
I was driving near Memorial @ Waugh today and suddenly a 15 foot rooster turned into the lane next to me. It was weird.
i went by Live to meet up with folks to go to the Dynamo game. I saw some 40 year old punker in those old roller skates. Hotness.
