http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Live...-city-limits-music-festival-lineup-rumors.php <i>There were 15 artists revealed for the 2007 Austin City Limits Music Festival lineup (through a fan scavenger hunt in the form of a crossword puzzle). So far, simply put -- sweet. The annual festival is set for September 14-16 in Austin, TX. I've got to get down there for this... I'm not a big ACL guy - really festivals in general - but depending on who is confirmed for this, I might go.
If the rumored list is true, that's a fantastic lineup. So many I haven't had a chance to see before and so many that I want to see again. Official lineup should be out in the next couple of weeks.
Don't miss the comment below by some poster: Comments the source that posted that rumored list said that someone close to the organization of ACL counted 69 bands from that rumored list that were on the lineup, and not included in that 69 were bob dylan, stevie wonder, and neil young... so take it with a grain of salt...i think it has some big names added in there to throw people off though 69 of those bands would still be a killer lineup, no matter how you slice it Although removing dylan and wonder may reduce the starpower, doesn't effect the list much for me. It's still an awesome collection.
Well, we'll know for sure in 1 week. According to the Austin Statesman, the official list comes out on the 10th.
eh, not many of my favorites in that list. I'd like to see Bjork, LCD Soundsystem, The Roots, and maybe The White Stripes....but thats about it from that list. I was so hoping for Radiohead/Smashing Pumpkins, but thats just wishful thinking.
Aww...are you serious??? I'd crap myself if I got to see any combination of these artists....I wish ACL was a summer thing. :\
i don't get why they are not more popular. i think they are capturing the zeitgeist admirably. in another era i think they might have been as big as U2. but as is being discussed in http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=128590&page=2 times have changed. why don't you like them?
I can't really put my finger on it. Their music just doesn't move me in any way. And beyond that, I often hear music that is popular, that I don't like, but I can understand the appeal. That's not the case with Arcade Fire. Also, I think I first heard them on Saturday Night Live and it seems to me like the sound is often so horrible on that show that even bands/songs I like are almost unlistenable. So that may have biased me against them.
