That really blows. Does anybody know how many tickets are released to Houstonians. I have a cousin who works for Reliant, she can get Texans tickets, but I highly doubt she can get Super Bowl ticks.
Unless you are a business partner with the Texans or the NFL or you get them from someone who is, your probably out of luck. The deadline for public ticket applications passed in June IIRC. For the general public they only offer a minimal number of tickets and they are distributed by random drawing. The rest of the tickets are offered to NFl sponsors and then to all teams to distribute to their sponsors.
I read a few weeks ago that only 1000 would be released to the public. However, they said that most of them won't even go to Houstonians. I really don't remember most of the article. But I read it in the Chron a few weeks ago. I might look it up when I have more time!
Thats absurd. For comparsion anybody know how much NCAA football national title game would cost? Heck I much rather go to that instead No way I can possibly afford to go to the Superbowl but Ill defintely be in town that weekend to enjoy the Superbowl festivities (MTV Etc)
Here is the Super Bowl ticket information: http://www.superbowlxxxviii.org/display.php?tid=32 I'm not sure thatthose prices are what the actual tickets cost. That site looks mor elike a ticket attractions type site than an official super bowl site.
The Super Bowl is overrated. I hate it when I'm watching the game with people and they've picked sides, and rooting for one team over the other. Meanwhile those people have little or no allegiance to that team whatsoever. Example, "Oh I'll just kill myself if the Redskins don't beat the Bills!" Really, unless you have money riding on the game, who gives a damn.
Ever been to a Super Bowl? I have and the experience is not over rated. I wouldn't pay those prices though. My tickets to Super Bowl 28 in Atlanta. Lower prom, halfway up at looking down the 10 yard line were apxox Face Value 160 per ticket. I was offered $750. per on the way into the game.
The Super Bowl is nothing more than a big corporate event, in which true fans of the teams are rarely in attendance. If you want to see a real football game, go watch Texas-OU at the Cotton Bowl in October. Go to the West End in Dallas the night before, then hangout at the State Fair and attend ESPN Gameday before game - the atmosphere is unlike that of any professional sports event. You can feel the hatred just walking around that weekend. Other real football games include: Michigan - Ohio St. Florida - Florida St. Florida - Georgia (neutral site)
Been there, done that and compared to going to the Super Bowl hands down the SB more fun. Your mileage may vary.
on the topic of superbowl... are the other things besides the game worth coming in town for you think? how good is the nfl experience etc. and is that expensive as well..
Bwa ha ha!! I'm most likely going to the Super Bowl this year for work! (We sponsor the NFL Experience show thingy every Super Bowl.) Problem is, I have ONE ticket, so I'll have sit with the "suits" from my office. Meh. I already have this overwhelming desire to scalp my ticket for big moolah outside the stadium and watch the game with my family instead. I don't think the "suits" will like that, though...
