Vince Carter said if he's healthy, he'll enter next year's dunk competition.

What if the participants were: Vince Carter, Kobe, Mcgrady, Lebron James, Richardson, and Desmond Mason, and possibly Carmello Anthony?

    Who would win?

Vince is the oldest of the bunch...even though at his prime I think he's the best dunker in history. But at his age, can he beat Lebron James, or mcgrady and kobe? Also his knees will never be what they were so..

    what do you think?

Vince seems like he has been living in the air longer then the other players, and the fans sure loves VC. I would go for Vince, even though I like T-Mac's dunks. They would have to be pretty clever to pull one out.

I sincerely hope Carmelo stays in the 'Cuse.

    But that won't happen.

He honestly might rival LeBron next season. He's a VERY quiet superstar.

I mean he's practically getting the same numbers LeBron is, but playing better competition. I mean 29 points vs. Connecticut in a loss. WOW!!!

How many other college players period are averaging 20+ points, mostly on the mid to upper portion of the 20s?

Sure he won't get 50 or 52, but he is still playing unselfishly believe it or not.

I couldn't believe this guy until I saw him.

Truly a great catch for whichever team (Cleveland, Miami, Denver, Chicago, Toronto, Memphis, or the Clippers) can get his draft rights.

Of course this is assuming he does leave after this year :D .

Vince can still pull off some amazing air. It's not like he's over the hill. He still has plenty left in the tank to pull off a slam dunk contest win....or two, or three (depending on how many times he would enter).

The other guys you mentioned would definitely give VC a run for his money because they can all fly. I think the one who could give Carter the most challenge is his bloodline Tracy McGrady. That guy can fly as well.

You know what I noticed about J-Rich? he's not necessarily the best or most creative dunker, but he is, hands down, the fastest...the guys a feckin' bullet!! You have to see the replay or you see nothing....my 2 cents ....oh and VC would win

cough, cough.....Vince can't enter the contest, because it is the SPRITE "RISING STARS" DUNK CONTEST where the competitors are only young athletes. It was because of this STUPID rule that Ricky Davis was not allowed to enter. :rolleyes:

All sarcasm asside...Vince entering the dunk contest next year would be VERY cool and I am sure if he wanted to be in it the NBA would "suddenly change their rule"! The bigger the names you bring to it the more compelling a contest it will be.

i don't think richardson is going to join again. if i were him, i wouldn't unless i created so new dunks. he certainly will not win if he does the same dunks that he did in the past 2 dunk contests.

vince will win if he's healthy because he can easily make all his dunks.

What about LeBron James. IMO He will be one of the most popular and most talked about (like he isn't already) players in the league next year. And the Duck contest is mostley about popularity and LeBron is 7 or 8 years younger tha Vince.

I hope they dont let Carter, Kobe, and Mcgrady in for this exact reason. They have screwed themselves over with the slam dunk contest. If they allow the bigger names to join....Ricky Davis should sue...Seriously. The winner wins money, and they would have cheated him out of money this year and next year(possibly).

Please do not go into a Dunk Contest thread and hype Carmelo Anthony. There's the draft forum for that. You're acting like nobody in the world has ever heard of him. We know who he is, and btw, he was about 9-25 that game.

Yao Ming baby. He can do one of those pattented Ralph Sampson 360 degree dunks.
