    Wow... Dorsey isn't the quarterback.

Maybe there's a chance he doesn't get the Heisman after all. We can only hope.

    Typical Miami hata response:rolleyes:

Please tell me that you don't think that the Heisman trophy should go to Simms??

On the other hand, I would rather not know who you think should win it.

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

And for the record, I don't have a problem with Carson Palmer being ahead of Dorsey & it doesn't bother me if Dorsey doesn't win the Heisman.

However, it bothers me to see crap like the post I quoted above.

    I'd pick Palmer over Dorsey.

as for the Heisman, i still choose johnson over the above 2. 2000 yards is amazing.

Dorsey is like 32-1 or something like that Unbelieveable, I dont care what team he plays for. Dorsey should be leading Miami towards their 3rd national title not its 2nd but oh well.
    My Choice is Dorsey

Palmer- He has a shot but he dosent get enough hype b/c of the west coast. hes been awsome this year but voters will rememebr the dissapointing years hes had before.

Johnson- didnt show up for big games

Simm-um he wont even be in new york. no explanation needed

Brad Banks should win the Heisman; probably won't, but he's the best player in D1 football this year. LJ is next, then Palmer, McGahee & Dorsey.

Why don't you tell me why it's crap, manny? The fact that Carson Palmer is superior to Dorsey in almost every statistical category, and has a more important role on his team?

The only argument you can make for Dorsey is that he is 11-0, but he has a better running back, receiver core, and offensive line than anyone else in the country.

Typical Manny response... question one thing about one of his teams, get a personal insult in response.

Carson Palmer should win the Heisman.

Considering your past regarding college football, why should anyone take your views seriously ?

You are never wrong are you? If you are, you have some convenient "loophole" to get out of it.

You don't see other Texas fans like gr8-1 or DV act like you do. I have never seen mduke act like you. I know that those guys don't like Miami, but that is okay because they don't act like a damn baby like you.

The perfect example is that Simms thread in which Timing and VesceySux called you on your ridiculous assertions about Simms and Texas. Then you have the gall to say that you are kidding?? WTF??!!

Just admit that you don't know it all, but I'm sure you will find another "loophole" to avoid saying what is obvious to everyone else here.

I have always given you a break because I like you and I think you have a good heart. But I am sick and tired of seeing this routine you do here with your arguments. It was funny for a while, but now it is absolutely nauseating.

I am sorry for saying it, but it needs to be said.

And if you had bothered to read my previous post, you will see that I said that I had no problem with Palmer making the all-American team over Dorsey. Hell, I have no problem with Dorsey not winning the Heisman. I didn't like your tone as it smacked of someone who is jealous, a poor sport, and a gigantic baby. So, that is why I said it was crap and it still is.

Is that explanation good enough for you?

    Hmm... where to begin?

Show me one quote where I said, or even implied, that I was kidding. I said the words "sure thing" talking about Simms being drafted high-- not his performance in the NFL. Are you telling me they know what I was thinking more than I do myself?

As for me never admitting I was wrong... I did a search over some college football threads this year. Here's what I found.

After I predicted Texas would blow out Tech:

We lost, and we do need some changes, but it shouldn't take away from the fact that Texas Tech just played a great football game today. Props to Kingsbury, Leach, and the rest of the Red Raiders, and good luck against OU.

    After the OU game:

That being said, I have to agree with gr8-1 in eating some crow. Before I start, I'd like to apologize to the Sooner fans in general.

After Simms' bad game against CU:

Chris Simms totally sucked in this game, in the biggest game in a long time for Texas. Everything that shanna and other critics said about him was true, and all the progress I had seen him make totally went away.

Is this not good enough for you? It's true, I don't freak out as much as a lot of Texas fans-- it takes more than a game for me to change my mind. Why should anyone take my views seriously? Lets see, well, I've called a lot of games that no one else did (OU's entire run two years ago). I've apologized when I've been wrong (see above quotes). I've supported all of my views with a lot of evidence-- if I haven't, please tell me where and I'll get it for you.

Some of my views are unpopular, and it sounds like you're just getting on me for it. The only baby here is you-- turning a general debate over college football into a personal insulting contest. The only nauseating thing is to see you post your little rolleyes every time someone's not kissing Miami's ass and every time one person has something positive to say about CHris Simms.

No, it's not. I said I hoped Dorsey didn't get the Heisman, and you translate that into me being jealous, a poor sport, and a gigantic baby? Believe it or not, there are arguments for other players, and some of us do have a problem if a statistically worse player across the board wins the award.

Just because we disagree with a player winning an award doesn't mean we're jealous of him, genius.

You don't "freak out" over Texas football games like most Texas fans??

What kind of dope are you smoking??

Please, stop, seriously. I am going to get in trouble at work from laughing out so loudly!

Have you ever read these boards after Texas games? Every time we lose, there are posters (here, Hornfans, wherever) calling to fire the whole coaching staff, to find a new quarterback, new running back, etc.

I know how hard it is to go undefeated in college football, and I tend to have more patience in sticking with a player/system than some other fans. With the exception of the Tech loss, I've always been in the corner of Mack Brown and the rest of the program.

Also, I really love how you ignore the instances I presented where I directly said I was wrong, just so you can hold to your stupid little argument. Who's the baby now?

Manny, THIS IS NOT DIRECTED AT YOU, THIS IS AN OBSERVATION I MAKE ON A YEARLY BASIS to people who make this argument.

Let me just make this statement. I will give the guy his due of being the QB for a team that has done what it has done since being there, but to suggest just b/c they are #1 thus he deserves to be the qb is a bit of a stretch.

If that were the case, the entire team should be Canes, but that is not the case. These awards are for the best player at their position in the country and NO ONE can say with a straight face they feel that Dorsey is the best qb in the country.

Um, no. That is not what I am talking about and you know it. I am talking about how you make excuses for Texas losing like the wind, the refs, and stuff like that.

It is never because the other team is better. That is what I mean by "freaking out". That is the main reason why you have pissed me off to an infinite degree.

    Horns,

I know what you are saying and I appreciate it. For the record, I think that McGahee is Miami's best player...not Dorsey. However, Dorsey has been their unquestioned field general. This "argument" between Cat and me is something that has resulted from an accumulation of things that I have read here and I guess I have snapped. I guess that is the best way to describe it.

    Manny,

I will give you $100 if you can find one instance where I blamed a Texas loss in the last two years on the wind or the officials.

I showed you quotes from the Tech game this year, OU this year, and CU last year in this thread. In every single one of them I gave props to the other team, and never once blamed the officials, weather, etc.

Ok, that is fine. the only reason I prefaced the comment is I did not want you to think it was a case of piling on.

Dorsey has done a fantastic job, but I think there are 5 qb's who could do the same.

I'm sorry. I let myself get provoked and I just couldn't stop.

I'll try not to let this happen the next time.
