Saw this posted elsewhere, so I thought I'd ask it here. Assuming the Celtics get broken up this summer, I think it's a legitimate comparison.

Detroit - Made playoffs 2002-2009 (nine times). They had six straight conference finals appearances, made the NBA Finals twice, won once.

Boston - Made the playoffs from 2008-2012 (five times). They made the conference finals three times, made the NBA Finals twice, won once.

I think Boston did endure more injuries during their run compared to the Pistons.

Judge this based on their prime performance, extent of their reign, domination abilities, offensive abilities, defensive abilities, or anything in between.

Which team do you think was better overall?

    Pistons.

I still remember those "Spurs-Pistons finals" predictions and how everyone was wishing that it doesn't happen.

Rasheed would have taken Garnett out of the paint / his defensive comfort zone, so I think he would have the advantage there.

And then Big Ben would be on Garnett on the defensive side? Great matchup there.

    Billups v Rondo
    Hamilton v Allen
    Prince v Pierce
    Wallace v Bass
    Wallace v Garnett

That would be a fun 48 to watch. Especially the backcourt matchups.
