On St. Patrick's day at the bar I was playing at saw a sign that said March 17, 1994. One of the other guys in band joked that we must've traveled back in time ala Hot Tub time machine until our singer pointed out that is the latest date you were born on to legally drink.

Twenty years since the Rockets won their last championship and now people who were born just before the first one can legally drink. There's a whole generation who will grow up never having seen something like this in Houston.

There must be Houstonians out there who feel toward Olajuwon how I do to Hayes or Moses Malone or Calvin Murphy -- you heard they were good and maybe saw some footage, but never celebrated their victories when they had them. Just another of the ol' time greats from some past era.

It's not like the Rockets organization were bottom feeders after the 2 'ships. We had Francis and Mobley, McGrady, Yao, and now Harden and Howard. Even though we haven't seen a championship for a while now, those names and their games aren't so bad to grow up on.
