But then again, this is the NBA where anything can happen, thus throwing some of my status quo predictions out the window. Personally, I would think that we could knock off at least one team out of SA, SAC, and UTA, even though we would not be favored to do so. So, the questions are, Where do you think the Rockets will be 2 weeks from now? What upsets do you think will occur, not necessarily involving the Rockets? Safe Bet Would Say: Rockets 2 games behind Phoenix Rockets 2.5 games behind Minnesota I Say: Rockets 1.5 games behind Phoenix Rockets 2 games behind Minnesota Rockets will upset the Jazz on Tues 27th [This message has been edited by today (edited March 22, 2001).]
I like the Rockets to beat Utah, but wonder if both Houston and Phoenix are going into Seattle and beating the Sonics. They are struggling, but it's a tough home floor. Maybe they can do us a favor against the Suns. ------------------ "Considering Mobley for His First Son's Name"
Two Comments: 1. Do you work for Southwest Airlines? 2. Very nice chart. ------------------ Whitey will pay.
The Rockets can win in Sacramento, the Kings have been stumbling. ------------------ The Heart of a Champion still beats. . .
LOL. Purty Colors. today, I had to take a few steps back to read that font size... Where's Portland in your chart? We'll pass those guys by the end of the month! ------------------ "We've never been very comfortable with praising ourselves, but we're so proud of our new album, The Great Eastern, that we've got no problem telling people it's an absolutely fantastic record." RocksMillenium said: Not to be raggin on ya man, but you lose a lot of credibility in my book when you say that. How have the Kings been stumbling? They're tied for the freakin best record in the West! They've won 5 in a row, 10 of 12, clicking on all cylinders, and Webber is back and dominating. Now I bleed rocket red as much as anyone, and I too think and hope the rocks can and will beat the kings. But common, it's not going to be because "the Kings have been stumbling." Get real. Sorry if I'm being harsh. ------------------ When I die, I want to be reincarnated as that chair in the Britney Spears video.
I think the Rockets will beat the Spurs and Jazz, but still lose to the Kings. They have our number. I think Phoenix will lose to Seattle on the road. ------------------
I will be at the Rockets game in Sacramento . I'll be the only Rocket fan there!! Thats not gonna stop me from busting out my Francis jersey!!! I finally get to be "that guy" that is the only fan that likes the other team and heckles the crowd. I'll be laughing at all the Kings fans when we give them a spanking. I can't wait. GO ROCKS!!! ------------------ "And i'm spent!"
Achebe: I changed the font for you, but now i see why i enlarged it. I got done editing this thing around 5am, so my decision making skills weren't too sharp at the time Rimbaud: Nope, no SW Airlines job, but I added a little feature for you. If we are going to beat SA on Saturday, Mo is going to have to have a better defensive game against Duncan than he did in the last meeting. Duncan had 28 and 11. I think if we can hold Duncan under 20 points, we will have a good shot at winning that one. I am planning on updating this table with the results so that I have something to look at. If Clutch has the time to do a 'playoff run' section, that would be even better... But for now, I will just update the Southwest Airlines' 2 Week Outlook table. ------------------ "You couldn't have stuck a pin up his @#! with a jackhammer. The Rockets will beat the Spurs, and lose to the Kings. They will then go undefeated the rest of the season. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
today, looks great. looking over the Rockets' opponents' schedules, SAS, UTA and PHO play against the Rockets this month on the 2nd night of their own back to backs. Just taking whatever advantage we can get. ------------------ (===)
Man, I was SO looking forward to Dream raping David Robinson one final time at least...Oh well.. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Sane (edited March 15, 2001).]
Boy, we just barely pulled it out against NJ. Phoenix is down by 10 points going into the 4th, hopefully we can pick up a game against them too. I really hope that Steve's knee is just a day-to-day thing that won't prevent him from playing on Saturday against the Spurs. If we can knock them off, we will have tons of confidence and 2 days rest going into the Sac game. The Spurs better be ready, because we are definitely bringin' the Heart. ------------------ "You couldn't have stuck a pin up his @#! with a jackhammer. Heh... it's also a little silly to assume that the team with the better record will always win. The season would be set after the first 20 games . ------------------ Boston College - Big East -East Division Regular Season Champs Worst to First in 2001!
Haven: Those basic assumptions are only there just to show who the favored team is. Like I said earlier, if everything goes by the book, we ought to only gain 1/2 game on Phoenix and stay even with Minnesota. I felt like this would be a good measuring stick to rate our performance at the end of the week(s). If you can think of a better way to make the assumptions, I am all ears. ------------------ "You couldn't have stuck a pin up his @#! with a jackhammer. Hey RocketSmack, got an extra ticket? If not, represent big time. I've been "that guy" at every Warriors game since I moved to the Bay Area in '96. Some guy asked me where I got my Francis jersey last year. I told him the Rockets store at Memorial City. I don't think he knew what I was talking about. ------------------
this sucks, but I just realized that the Rockets would be in 7th spot if they had won in Phoenix. ------------------ (===) [This message has been edited by Achebe (edited March 16, 2001).]
