Pretty excited about the win last night. Seeing the 2nd unit perform at that level was amazing and I hope this becomes a trend....not them outplaying the 1st unit, but the energy and different style they bring to the game. Reminds me a bit of the Kings(bibby days) or even the mavericks(with JTerry) where the team is equally dangerous with the 1st unit or the 2nd unit. Let's see where we go from here
we've also had some games this year where our bench is non-existent and tony douglas seems like the worst pg in the NBA... great win..but lets settle our expectations a bit.
Except this year's team has actually been STARTER HEAVY. Rocket's starters play the 2nd most minutes in the league (so much for "development" time for youngsters). There hasnt been much of a 2nd unit. We just now are seeing them finding an identity when given the chance. And though Carlos Delfino doesnt fit the rebuilding plan, he does lend a steady veteran presence for the 2nd unit. And what Toney Douglas is finally starting to do too instead of STINKBOMBING it all year
Kind of like how last year's 2nd unit brought us back into a lot of the games. Can't wait to see what it will look like when TJ and DM (and RW?) are in the rotation. Pow chica pow pow!
.. and the year before that. Oh wait, this dates back to Lowry + Landry + Wafer + Bud + Hayes and so on
