    BTW...
I wish we had real reporters here in Houston. Joseph was hurt last week - noticeably. Was anything ever even asked about it? I would be willing to bet all of Groogux's substantial fortune that he wasn't 100% healthy last night.

Somebody please break down the playoff scenarios as of now and what seed we are and could end up being.

    Will rep for breakdown.

He's on the injured list with a minor hamstring pull, but you're right - I don't remember anyone specifically asking about it during the week. If Denver loses today, I'd consider sitting him against Tennessee.

We beat the Titans and we're guaranteed at least the third seed.

Everything else is incumbent on other teams losing. Oddly enough, if all Patriots/Ravens/Steelers all go 0-2, the Texans can still get the first overall seed and a first round bye.

If we have the same record as the Ravens, they have the edge on the tiebreaker. A Ravens win or a Texans loss guarantees that they'll finish ahead of the Texans.

A Patriots win or a Texans loss guarantees the Patriots finish ahead of the Texans.

I think the only way for the Steelers to finish ahead of the Texans is to win out (to go 12-4) and win their division (which means the Ravens lose at least one game). We own the head-to-head tiebreaker with Pittsburgh.

The scenarios should clear up after today's games.

Technically, the Steelers and Ravens would only have to go 1-1 in that scenario. :)

Basically, any scenario for the Texans to move up to No. 1 or No. 2 involves the Patriots dropping two home games to the Dolphins and Bills. Highly unlikely, but possible.

The bigger risk is falling to No. 4. If Denver wins out (at Buffalo, home vs. KC) and the Texans lose to Tennessee, the Texans are the No. 4 and open against Pittsburgh or Baltimore. Cheer hard for the Bills to come out and play an inspired game at home. That way, the Texans will have the luxury of resting a few of their dinged up starters, if need be.

You're right - we'd regain the AFC tiebreak if all four teams finish 11-5! Highly unlikely, but it's true!

The sad thing is, I'm almost hoping the Patriots win today. If it turns out the only thing to keep us from the No. 1 seed and homefield throughout was a loss at Indianapolis (all we needed, had we won out, was a NE loss)... it makes our Thursday meltdown all the more painful.

If all of the teams we meet in the playoffs lose to us, we win!

Is that true? I thought after last weeks games it had been said the Texans could finish no worse than the 3rd seed. What tie breaker do we lose to the Tebow's?

It's either common games or strength of victory, since conference record would be a wash. But we most definitely would lose a tiebreaker to Denver. You can play with the scenarios here:

Don't we want NE to lose? It sucks that both Pittsburgh and Ravens are winning though...

Ya we do. If the Pats lose out and the Ravens/Steelers lose next week, we would be the first seed.

Oh what could have been if we could have just split the last 2.

Yes, we wanted NE to lose, I was lamenting our buzzard's luck if NE had gone onto lose after we blew a "gimmie" on Thursday night.
