there's no doubt in my mind that it took you a while to get that high of a pick. i sat around for 7 minutes literally trying to bump us up, and the highest we went was #10. but hey, anything's possible.
Woohoo, I just got us to #2 also.. hehe Now, the question for the day is: IF Houston managed to get a top 3 pick, is there enough of a concensus out there about the top players so that other teams would be willing to trade up to get our pick, maybe giving us one in the top ten AND another #1 this year or next? It looks like JJ is going to be around when we pick regardless, so could we pass on a guy like Aldridge to get JJ and another #1 ?
negative, we don't pick gay, because he's got stro's atittude. Comes to play sometimes and not others.
yea I'm not sure about Gay I would go with Thomas he is going to be crazy, and he looks like a hard worker
All these sites say that we need a shooter or a PF. We need a lot of things, but I think the priority is getting more athleticism and size on the perimeter. Particularly, I'd like to get a SG with size who can defend and handle the ball really well (and play SF if need be). Someone like Roy or Brewer. Guys with the best upside. If we draft a PF, what are we going to do with Howard, Swift, and Hayes? Howard is untradeable and will be returning nexy season, Swift's stock has probably dipped considerably this season but is tradeable, and Chuck Hayes deserves a chance to be on the team next season (in my opinion). Unless we can get a certifiable stud, I don't think we should look to get a PF. Here's our production, by position: http://www.82games.com/0506/0506HOU5.HTM Our guards is where the work is really needed. If we can pickup a decent backup PG, I'll settle for Alston as our starter next season. But we need a quality, young SG who can defend and make good decisions with the ball. That's what I want to see us drafting for.
If we did somehow get in the top 3, except centers, I don't think we care what position they play. Get the best guy there is. If it's a SF, him and McGrady could take the 2 swing positions. The only position I worry about is slow-footed center. A center who is quick can play PF for us just as easily.
I don't want Gay and Head on the same team. I got number 10 about 30 times in a row. Then, BAM. I got number 2 also. No, I mean, I actually took a number 2. Realistically, I think we should expect a pick around number 10, don't you guys?
I thought clutch had pulled a prank on us when I first did it, but I tried for like 5 minutes and couldn't get back in the top 3 again.
What we need is someone to do some statistical scenario models of the Rockets getting a top-3 pick. We need standard deviations. We need T-scores. We need normalized probability distributions. We need Tango.
SG is definitely our biggest hole IMO. With that said, IF we had a top pick, it would probably be too high to pick up one of the guards/swingmen in this year's draft. There are quite a number of big men in this draft.
Whee, I got a Number One here!! Oddly, Atlanta is #2, and Orlando is #3. None of the three teams with the most balls ended up with a spot in the top 3. Weird.
i can see all the jokes already if we ever got GAY... we would have Head and Gay on our team.... ohhh the possibilities are endless
