"Malone merely the best player to play his position in this game's history."

Tim Duncan and 4 shiny rings would like to have a word with the author.

Sure, Tim had Gino and Parker, but Malone had Stockton.

Yep... I would take Tim, KG and a prime Sir Charles over Malone, but that's just me...

Malone was ONE of the most dominant players OF HIS TIME... does this constituate a HOF status??? I don't know... that's like saying Patrick Ewing/Alonzo/Chris Webber/KG all deserve to be in the HOF... so I don't know...

Scottie was one of the best defenders in the game... but we, as fans and critics, really DONT' KNOW how good of a player he would have been if he was on another team because Michael DID have positive influence on him, you can't say Scottie is the player today without Michael.

It is not unreasonable to put Scottie on the same level as a Kemp or a Mashburn / Jones/ Hardway (Penny not Tim lol).. but there is a small chance he could have been on a Drexler-like level..

So those 2 choices... I say BORDERLINE HOF... (IMO S-L-I-G-H-T-L-Y misses).

    HOWEVER.

DENNIS RODMAN HOF FTW. He would have drunken sex with Modanna in Vegas all night and fly the next day to Chicago and grab 20 rebounds. Dennis Rodman = BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF ALL TIME.

Pippen? Throw out the numbers. The guy was never a viable No. 1 option for any team. How is that worthy of fame? He was Michael Jordan's backup dancer. I hope they erect a bronze statue of him shining Jordan's shoes.

seriously, all you bitter unknowledgeable basketball fans need to realize that both malone and pippen were all time greats in their own right.

malone is in the top 2 list of greatest power forwards EVER (only him and duncan in the dicussion)

pippen is definitely a hall of famer in his own right. people forget to realize the years that jordan retired from the game..pippen was in the mvp discussions (finished 2nd and 3rd respectively).

get out of our homer views and start to judge these things without any bias BS.

Prime Barkley was every single bit as good as Malone, If not better.

    Kevin Garnett as well...

You could certainly make great arguments for all 3...

Actually, T-Mac needs to be retired for 5 years before he can be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Karl Malone's knees and elbows should be in the HOF for all the damage they've caused.

Karl Malone was the greatest regular season PF to ever play the game. The greatest to never win a thing.

The Pippen/Malone hate in this thread is just stupid. These guys are unquestionably deserving of the HOF people.

wtf is wrong with you people. Malone and pippen are borderline Hof???? Bafoonery.

The year jordan left he led the bulls in scoring, assissts, and led the league in steals. The bulls team won 55 games that year. For those who think he could only be 2nd fiddle.

    Malone is no question HOF.
