I think he will let the market set their price......

And, Lowry may just settle for a one year tender to become unrestricted next season (if he wants a starting job).

Morey said what he said because he wants both of those guys back. ANd also because it lets other people know they are wasting their time trying to get our guys.

So I believe he meant what he said but withing reason. The reality is if we sign Bosh can we really afford a 50 mil + deal for Scola. And if Lowry commands the full MLE is it really feasible to pay 40+ mil for a backup point.

Right now the only players we know for sure are on our team are the ones with a guaranteed contract.

Yes. Unless somebody decides to offer Scola a ridiculous contract, the Rockets will match. And anybody willing to overpay Scola will probably try to overpay Boozer and Lee first. I think Scola will get market value as will Lowry. There's little reason to worry. 99% chance both will be back next season.

So, the Red Rowdies caravan is not stopping at Scola's or Lowry's house?

The teams that are our biggest threat to signing both of them too high are Miami, Chicago, Knicks, Nets, with Miami being the front-runner for Lowry. They have alot of capspace and there is good potential for them to not sign the "players" they want out of free agency and even if they do sign them, there will be a major need for players to play roles on their teams.

Miami could really use a solid point guard and if they dont get everyone they want or only get one Max guy + Wade they will have cash to burn and Lowry would be a good pick up for him.

As for Scola, we have a much better shot of him staying relativaly inexpensive with the long list of high profile PF's hitting the market. But then again, he could still get an offer from a team like New Jersey that has deep pockets and strikes out on Amare, Boozer, and Lee. If Phoenix loses Amare ,which looks promising, they could target Scola pretty heavily and give him a decent offer.

Overall I feel pretty good that we should get them back at a reasonable price and without a fight, but expect Miami to court Lowry pretty heavily after the dust settles with signing Wade + the popular kids in school (Lebron, Bosh, etc,)

Morey might say he will match their offers but if the Russian drinks too much Stoli and offers Scola a 5 Year, 50 Million dollar deal.
