These are the types of things that we should start expecting. A candidate that ran for president and won on divisive discriminatory rhetoric gave people a green light to bring their hidden racist mentality out into the open.

On an unrelated note. I've seen two cars on fire on the side of the highway in the last two weeks. How odd. I'd never seen that before last week.

 

So you blame this on Trump? C'mon, are you actively trying to kill whatever credibility you might have?

 

Unless the offending posse was black, then it'd be Obama fanning the fires of racism.

Similarly does "losing your credibility" only apply when it's in regards to people who don't hold the same viewpoint as yourself?

 

Do we even know who committed this crime? Do we have ANY true idea if it was hate based in the first place?

Kind of a really stupid leap to blaming Trump for what could amount to nothing less than a prank gone wrong.

That's a thread by someone I have on ignore.....so yeah, that's the level of credibility he has with me. It should go without saying, don't be that guy.

 

I just need someone to blame for this literal fanning of flames. It's someone's fault, and I'm angry.

 

It's been happening for the last 8 years, you should be used to it by now. There's a reason why things have gotten so bad.....and it was before Trump was an issue. Now sure his rhetoric can't be defended, and I sure as hell wouldn't try, but if you go around blaming everything on him unfairly then it just pushes people away from whatever cause or narrative you are trying to further.

Now if this ends up being some kind of racist attack motivated by Trump's rhetoric, then it's absolutely appropriate to blame him for it. Till then it's not.

 

I think the riots or killing of other people have not been the President or President elect's fault moreso in the sense of them being blamed for the words they say rather than their acts or policy as elected officials. People are dicks and they should take responsibility for their stupid **** rather than blaming the words said by someone 1500-3000 miles away.

 

When it comes down to it, I 100% agree with you, people are dicks and they are ultimately responsible for their own actions.

 

Trump has been elected for 10 days. He has at least on one occasion advocated for the violence and riots to stop. I do expect Trump to stand up for minorities. He doesn't necessarily need to pander to them, but he does need to speak out against bigotry.

Obama has been in office for 8 years. While he has been a moderate and I like him more than when he first came into office, however he has a couple weak points. He is a divider, not a uniter. He is way way too quick to interject into black racial issues and nearly every time he's been on the wrong side. Beergate. Travon Martin. Ferguson. None of these had any facts based on race but he chose to interject on race issues.
