Didnt want to create multiple threads so hopefully I can get the answers in one place, thought you guys would be best! 1) First off, my internet sucks donkey butt. I am with Wave Vision, living in Bellaire (apts). Is there any better services down here? We are on their best service, they say at least. But it continually gets disrupted. For the most part is a decent speed but it breaks up too much. Click on a link and you see the computer just thinking for a good minute before refreshing into what you wanted. Games will be DC'd too often. I am a heavy gamer and want something that goes with it. Tired of losing races and shooting matches on PS3 and Xbox and tired of wiping my MMORPG party out because my healing had no connection. Then there is school research which wife and I both do and both get frustrated with the lack of internet at times. My kids even get frustrated lol, and they are only 7 and 5!! So hoping you guys can point me into the right direction while looking for something better. 2) I bought some Bose speakers (Companion 2) and I noticed that whenever nothing is playing but left on it is making a humming noise. My previous speakers never did that (although they were 4.1's, I do not know if that means anything). Is this normal??? Could the speakers be faulty???? I was so excited about getting Bose and now I get this. Should I return for a new set and see what happens or just with different brand? Thxs Rocket fans!
1) It's so sad you have that company who claims their disconnecting signal is their best... I wonder what their WORST is... I hope for your kids' sake (not yours ) that you get better interwebnet connection. 2) What model is the BOSE system? I don't think any speakers should output any noise at standby, but there might be interference in the cables you're using, probably peeled off at one point or another, or touching ground that makes a "humming" (that's what she said) noise. Check the cables, make sure you're only using the resistance in between the recommended gauge.
HOW? I don't know why you're asking this question... but... WHY wouldn't she? I play games with my PRE-teen and teenager daughters, sir.
2) You have a short. If you have a humming sound that means that the speaker wire is exposed at some point, and touching something. It could be due to a number of things. Make sure your connections are good, and if they are and it continues, just contact Bose. They have great customer support.
lol, my kids thank you, lol. I'll look into Clear and whats up shipwrkeck! Um as far as model its Companion 2 (http://www.google.com/products/cata...a=X&ei=pJjmTv38Mc63twfK24mFBQ&ved=0CGIQ8wIwAg) As far as my wife letting me play? I dont put my games before my kids, I think the real problem is letting myself play before school work! This sucks, my LAN connected desktop is having hard time connecting and my wifi connected laptop is on and off, Im not the happy sort right now, need to watch Happy Feet again to calm down.
speedtest.com to test your speed and see what your paying for is what you are getting if it is DSL its simple, cable is another bag of worms... Bose sucks and they are overpriced and overrated... my two cents...
1) I'm assuming you have a lan connection to one of the modems provided by the service provider. A couple things to try before trying other services, if you haven't done so already, is make sure everything is properly connected, no loose connections or bad cables. It could also be a faulty modem and it just needs replacing. I'm not too familiar with the service provider you have, but you can try a couple of simple things before looking for a new service. 2) Try removing cables one at a time till the hum stops. Could be a bad cable or connection that's in the wrong input/output.
They like the Wii competition games, like the Tennis and Baseball ones, the "Michael Jackson Experience", the Guitar Hero ones, etc. Mostly, the ones we play either as a team or battling it out.
