At the half, Knicks are up by 16 over the Spurs.

    San Antonio: 32
    New York: 48
    Halftime

And in the 2nd quarter, the Pistons are up on the Trailblazers 50-26.

Go Knicks and Pistons. Anything to help the Rockets. If San Antonio loses tonight, the Spurs' lead over the Rockets drops to 2 1/2 games in the standings (Spurs are currently 3rd in the Southwest Division while the Rockets are 4th). Portland is currently 1/2 a game behind the Rockets in the conference.

    Later tonight---Washington @ Denver & Utah @ Sacramento

    Current Conference Standings:
    4. 32-18 - Utah* Division Leader
    5. 31-16 - San Antonio
    6. 29-19 - Denver
    8. 29-20 - Houston & Golden State
    10. 28-20 - Portland

At the moment, the Lakers/Magic game is just too good to even split screen with another game.

What's the deal with the Magic's offense? Dwight Howard isn't even a factor late in the fourth quarter.

Earlier in the season, I said it was premature to crown Howard as better than Yao. Turkey-Glue is their playmaker late in tight games and doesn't hesitate to pull the trigger. Neither does Rashard Lewis. Sometimes they almost forget about giving Howard the ball except for alley-oops. It would have been big for them to win this game after such a big comeback, but oh well, better luck next time.

BTW, Gasol fits the Lakers like a glove.

Saw the last few minutes of the Spurs game and check this out: Renaldo Balkman, who shoots 39% from the line, comes back for the ball on an inbounds pass (bad idea for him), gets fouled immediately with 8.5 seconds left and he HIT BOTH free throws to put the Knicks back up by 3 . Talk about a fluke!

But the Knicks were totally fooled by the play the Spurs ran and left Finley completely wide open for the game-tying 3 with 0.4 seconds left in regulation.

Popovich is a genious. He set up Finley for a wide open 3 so brilliantly.
Everyone was like, wtf is Ginobili going for the two for, that dumbass there is 5 seconds left, BAM kicks it to Finley, SWISH! OVERTIME

Spurs have all the momentum going in, they are gonna own the Knicks.

All I can say is, damnit.

No. It was stupidity on the part of the Knicks that three guys were near Ginobilli under the basket with time running out and the Spurs needing a 3 pointer. Balkman is not a very bright player. Most college or high school players wouldn't have been baited so easily.

Blazer's loss to Pistons is as expected.

Magic had the chance to pull out a win. Turkgolu/Lewis jacked 3 3s in final 2 minutes in a 1 pt game (ahead or behind). WTF were they thinking? good loss for the magic. not a bright team anyway.

Knicks' loss is pain stupid. No comment. After all, it's the Knicks.

Kings are going to beat the Jazz tonite. No doubt. Kings are one of the high scoring team that really has HOME court advantage.

The Wizards may give the Nuggets a good run. But Butler is out. Still, sometimes the Nuggets are just sluggish.

Either the Knicks players, the Knicks coach, or both - are brain dead.

Phoenix is struggling against Seattle. No Shaq tonight. If they lose, that places Rockets 4 games behind 1st.

Next time let the games finish before coming thru with the early jinx thread. It never fails.

Popovich isn't a genious for that play he called, the Knicks are just dumb as hell thats all. Why try to stop a guy thats going for a two when you're up by three.

LOL ... that play by the Spurs shows how little respect Popovich has for Isiah Thomas's coaching. He knew that the Knicks wouldn't be alert enough to stay on the 3-point shooters. Ridiculous.
