1997 WCF Game 6 vs. Jazz (how pure hatred for an NBA team started)

I did this to myself today. I youtube'd John Stockton's last second buzzer beater to send the Jazzholes to the NBA Finals. I saw how Clyde was wrestled like a Louisiana aligator by Karla Malone. I saw the cheesy cheerleader jump by Stockton at the end of the game. I saw Jerry Sloan looking like a 12 year old girl getting her first make-up kit.

I was at that game. I remember the DEAD silence of The Summit when the shot went down. I remember my heart breaking as we walked back to my dad's car.

It was right then and there I realized how much I HATE the Utah Jazz. I started thinking about all the flops, elbows, karate kicks, bad uniforms, bad team name, annoying players like Ostertag, Hornaceck, Carr - and all the other things that make you loathe an NBA franchise.

I can't tell you how bad I want to beat this team into oblivion.

    GO ROCKETS!!

The problem is that no one on this team was there when that happened and T-Mac and Yao weren't in the league and JVG might've been pulling for the Jazz since the Rockets had spanked his beloved Knicks 3 years earlier.

Maybe we need Clyde, Mario or Rudy T to go and refresh the current Rox crop about what it means to Houston and the Rox to beat the Jazz.

When I get mad about this, I always think about flattening the Jazz in '94 and '95, and I find that thought soothing.

Does anyone else remember the handed out signs in Utah saying: "This is our year!" in 95 1st round?

I remember thinking back..... yeah right.
