The 1986 WC Finals is on ESPN Classic. You can see the orginal Twin Towers, Sampson and Hakeem. (a young Hakeem at that.) You can also see Jabbar and Magic. I think this is also the game where Sampson makes the shot at the end. Since the game took place before I was born, I'm not sure.

*BTW, I mentioned this in another thread, but decided it deserved its own.*
Its almost over now, but it replays at 2 AM.

edit: You can also see a young(er) Jack Nicholson.(SP?) :)

I don't want to double post, but there is 1 second left if you want to catch it.

edit: well its too late now. I guess no one cares about this game but me. I feel so lonely. :(

    YES! SOMEONE CARES!:D

I never got to watch the game before today, either. I saw clips of it before, but it was pretty cool hearing it live. It was cool hearing someone say something like "Hakeem could be a real star, but he needs to control his temper." He controlled his temper and Voila, he got a ring.

Yeah, I know. I meant once he did cool down, he got his ring. (and another after that, happy?)

I have a feeling you were being a smart-a..aleck. I am too, though.

I saw the game in real time (1986) and the winning shot was enough for us to jump out of our seats into the air!

I actually had a good enough head on my shoulders at the time (I was only 14) to tape the game as it happened. It's pretty interesting to go back and see some of the whack commercials that were playing at that time.

I stayed up for the entire game and was glad I did. I remember running down the hallway to my parents room and waking my dad up to tell him what happened. Great times!

When Sampson hit that shot, my dad ran upstairs and woke me up...I was in 6th grade...he was screaming and I ran downstairs and watched the replay...was so excited the team was headed to the Finals.

My mom wasn't real thrilled he woke me up that late on a school night! :) Great memory, though...so many of these memories relate to my father.

Ah, what a difference between Sampson's game winner and Dream's tip in against Orlando. Night and day.
