When will we find out for sure if the Rockets have this pick or not? If they end up adding the pick(which is likely) what are the chances(realistically) of the Rockets using it to move up?

I think -- though my memory may be failing me -- that there is a June 4 deadline for Orlando to send it to us. After that, Phoenix, Orlando, and Houston would all have to consent to a transfer.

June 4th deadline for Houston getting the pick, June 1st deadline for Detroit to get it. That's why Vancouver has to make deals with pretty much everyone if they want that pick end up in Detroit (and that doesn't even touch if it does or does not qualify as the 18th pick in order to satisfy their trade).

Unless Vancouver offers Houston something tangible, I think they're very likely to keep it and try and trade up.

I get the feeling Houston won't be getting it. If we don't agree to give it to Vancouver, I think Orlando will let Phoenix keep it.

I agree with you JuanValdez,I think Orlando is afraid of Webber signing with us,and giving us the 18th pick may make it easier for us to move up in the draft.

Whoa, if Orlando lets Phoenix keep it, what happens to that pick in the future? Is there an upside or is it all downside?

Hopefully, Doc Rocket's hint that Orlando is going to deal for Toni Davis is true. He would be more affordable for them; and then the Magic can sign Hakeem with the exception. (I don't want to lose Hakeem, but he just might leave.) Such a team would kick major gluteus maximus.
