Anyone here know enough about the F from Columbus to have a strong feeling about this trade?

I never cared much for Moreno's game. He seemed like a quality athlete, but it never seemed to translate to much production.

I don't have any facts to back this up, but Ngaweral;j seems like a bigger forward.

    What's the dealio?

Something's got to improve with Houston's attack, so I'm glad they made this move. Maybe Ching, Dalglish, and Ngarwrupo will be a more explosive trio.

I know the guy has some serious wheels which should mean he will pair up quite nicely with Ching.

Good. I was hoping he'd have some speed to match. I feel like I've heard about his skill before, but playing in the wasteland that is Columbus can make many a man's career reps disappear.

Bottom-line...I know they needed to make a change. I just don't know enough about the new guy to have much feeling beyond that.

The trade also frees up about $60K in salary cap space. Quite a bit considering the current MLS salary situation.

Why do you think the Crew would make this trade for an older, more expensive, less productive player? What could their rationale be?

I'm actually not entirely sure. Oliver Luck was on the radio yesterday saying how surprised he was that the Crew did the trade straight up.

Perhaps the Crew feel they need someone who can hold the ball and draw fouls/set piece opportunities.

I read the first post and thaught it was a joke, I like power, I like finnesse, I like footwork.... I just don't like soccer. I stopped on the deuce last night while channel surfing and futbol was on, I made it all of about twenty seven seconds before I was bored. Advance the ball into goal scoring area, have it kicked back to midfield, rinse and repeat 87 times and maybe someone actually scores, yawn.

I seriously had no clue what chevious was talking about. I thought it was satire or something. Commence futbol talk, laters.

Ngwenya is even younger than I realized. I like that about this trade as well. Give us some insurance for when/if Ching's knees finally give out.

This is the main reason. They also just got a new guy to play on the wing so Ngwenya would probably have been spending a lot of time on the bench for them.

I think this is a trade that will help both teams, we get a fast guy up top and they get a target guy that can hold the ball up.

I am MEXICAN, and hence offended by the thread title. How dare you, sir, misspell "Ngwenya"??
