    lakers 6-0
    No 5-0
    warriors 4-1
    nuggets 3-2

    1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 7th seeds in the west.

Maybe we are just getting beat by the top teams?

It doesn't matter that we are losing to good teams. It matters how we lose and what we can do to get better and turn those wins into victories. The problem against NO was that I thought we tried our best and we kept the mistakes down and we still looked poor defensively. We just can't stop teams from getting to the basket. I am not sure how we improve on that. That is what I am upset about more than losses.

Against GS Ellis was a maniac. That won't happen again this year. But they also got to the basket at will. We have not yet been able to stop any team from getting to the basket. Especially in crunch time. And when you can't defend the paint you have to clog the paint and leave the three open. And teams are killing us from behind the arc.

Everyone says they miss JVG. But what is most different about JVG's team and this team is Yao was by far our best defender. Yao is far from it now. I hope what happens is he becomes a defensive specialist for us. More than anything I want him to play better D. If that happens than half of our problems are solved immediately.

It's one thing to lose to top teams, quite another to have late game collapses against every single one of them. That's the reason people are upset.

Yeah real talk. It's like you've loaded the bases with your ss, 2b,lf and your 1b can't deliver that winning RBI.

If I could rep this, I would.

If we were a top team, we'd be beating the top teams. Saying that it's okay that we're at the record we're at because we got beat by top teams is admitting that we're not good enough to be a top team. Still a bad thing.

Are you including the 4 wins we gave them?

They are 14-3 not including us.

Not only are we playing the some of the best teams, but its terrible timing b/c our new team just started playing real games together. it doesn't help that yao's minutes is hurting the team from achieving consistent chemistry . By the end of the season if yao is healthy and play very good (can jump), I believe we are the best team in the NBA above LA, above Boston. many clutch fans on here think that too i bet

And playing a 3-1 team tonight. What does that mean? According to that logic, we can only beat losers. And since we are the biggest losers in the NBA right now, it's hard to judge if we are the King of the Losers or we own the basement of the Losers.

Yeah, it could also look like this:

    lakers 5-1
    No 4-1
    warriors 3-2
    nuggets 2-3

14-7 combined, and rockets are 4-0

    How about that?

It's interesting. Look at Basketball-references adjusted for strength of schedule offensive and defensive ratings-

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/blog/?p=8070

The Rockets are rated 3rd best offensively and 25th best defensively. We are 13th overall.

The close games should balance themselves out

For me, it's not that they're losing but rather how they're losing. A four game losing streak in mid-Feb is concerning but just part of a long season however at the beginning of the year, it looks worse. The way they're losing is concerning, poor execution on defense and offense along with their limitations being exposed for everyone to see. Also mental concerns are popping up, Yao's time limit effecting the team, AB's contract issues getting into his head and rotation questions...all these are recipes for disaster later on.
