16-man roster?

Since the league granted the Rockets a Disabled Player's Exception, could that mean that the league could possibly allow an extra reserve spot on the roster as well?

I remember this happening in the 2005-06 season when the team went down with multiple injuries.

Just saw the news about use of injured player exception for Ariza. Question-- since the Rockets and NBA are of the opinion that Yao is out for the year, does this exception work like the 60 day disabled list in baseball? Will Yao still be counted as one of the 15 roster players next year, or do the Rockets get 15 plus Yao not counting against the roster?

(Yao is still on the roster, with the usual active/list rules. He will of course be inactive as long as he is out. -- Jonathan)
