Not surprisingly, a lie. The number came out of a House Ways and Means minority (Repub) "analysis." Here's what that report said: Here's the IRS Commissioner at a hearing yesterday... Might as well kill this Republican Talking Point now.
I don't know about "we", but I started doing this about 6 months after Obama was elected. The national Republican party is bankrupt trash, IMO, and I hope reasonable, sane Republicans take control.
Can someone confirm this? I mean, he doesn't say what they're doing in terms of hiring, just how it is going to be handled. It seems to imply that it will require no extra manpower, but it'd be nice to see someone with a title say so.
The IRS is in a major hiring mode, but not because of this. A big % of their workforce is eligible to retire in the next 5 years, and they just started a Global High Wealth Group. http://www.kiplinger.com/magazine/archives/the-tax-man-cracks-down.html
