ok, so it seems like every couple months, our cable bill shows up with a couple $12.99 movie charges. I KNOW what these movies are but nor I or anyone in the house is doing it. It seems a little suspicious especially since most of the times its being ordered, i do not think anyone is home. at the same time though, it happens too much to blame an outside source. now i dont know anything about the subject so... just a few questions. - is it possible that someone outside the house, ie: neighbor, could be getting into our cable and doing it? is there a way to check into this? the cable company could not give us what cable box it was being ordered from... - is it posssible that the cable company continues to screw us? and just in case it matters, i am using comcast but this has been happening before the switch i believe
hmm sounds like someone is ordering it in your house if i had to take a hard guess on it. but if you truly think that is not the case then i have no idea.
Do you have a teenage son or a jackass roommate? One time, the latter in my case ran up a $150 p*rn tab on the cable bill that was in my name. I believed him so I complained with the cable company for about an hour and then he finally fessed up.
I was going to ask about a teenage son as well because I would do the same thing. I would deny, deny, deny. And for a while, my parents believed me and got refunds from Time Warner.
yea it could be someone in the house but 2 things come up... 1) they have p*rn galore in every part of their room. im not kidding and its been that way for forever 2) they have denied knowing anything about it im still wondering if our cable can be accessed outside of the house. if possible, i am pretty sure this could be whats behind the billing. i just wish the cable company could help us find out whats going on. tell me wht cable box its being ordered from, how many cable boxes they show me having on their end, anything.
When it happened to me, the cable company told me the box the orders were coming from. Initially, the b*stard still denied it. To the person who mentioned the pw protection, that is definitely a good idea. I did that and have no more problems. I actually have to call in and give the last 4 digits of my social.
I remember when I was younger and I tried to order pr0n and it was locked.. sucked! Life is good now that I no longer live with the parents and the internet has evolved. But yeah, if I ordered it and I was questioned.. believe me I would just deny until we both fall asleep. But I'd probably just pay for my part, it's no big deal, people to stop being so cheap. Everybody knows everybody else watches pr0n, they just don't wanna cough up the dough.
You realize you can check purchased pay per view records on your box right? check your purchase history to bust the person who "make liar to you" and set the parental controls to keep it from happening again.
