Thank you, now he is talking about Artest's injury. Did I miss something? I mean, for example has he said anything about T-Mac?
Synopsis from when I started listening: Morey talking about Wafer saying he brings a lot of things to the floor even though it was a 1-9 game he liked what he was doing out there especially D. Asked about Battier - Morey says he is a ways away but you can see how much he helps the team even not at 100%...gonna take a while to get his timing back, as his game is based upon intelligence and timing...gonna take a while but Battier is a HUGE positive. Asked about fronting Yao Ming - Morey thinks fronting him is the most effective defense, but you need a player who is quick enough to get in front and be able to leap and recover, and not every team has that player...very effective defensive strategy....surprised more teams aren't using it...Yao thinks they need to work on it more, and Morey said he should get more offensive rebounds and pin his guy on the weak side when it happens. Yao still not doing that well at this point. Asked about Lebron : Morey said Lebron is best player in game and they are playing at an unbelievable level...calls them scary....says the 3 best teams in teh NBA are Boston, LA, and Cleveland. Hosts: Lebron out of this world. Morey - felt Lebron is the best player in the league these last couple of years reminds him of Bonds in baseball....where he was in an entirely different league.....seemed like everyone else is AAA compared to him. Taking phone calls now - I will try to pick it up in next post....after commercial break. DD
Have you watched them play recently? They look good. I believe we talked about it last night in chat... professorjay will be the best person to respond to this as he is a Cavs follower as well, but I have watched a few of their games (I do live "in" ohio) and LeBron is happy to have good players around him and is showing it in his play.
Of course, they have been amazing but come on. I don't remember them playing on the road and their schedule has been EASY. But still, they are ballin' now.
This board is funny. A team like the Cavs have the consistency fans here wish for Houston are underrated but then scrub to above average players like Steve Blake to Jason Terry get severely overrated just for having career nights againast the Rockets.
Synopsis continued........ Asked about Kevin McHale - Morey says he is in a tough spot, that the owner says...you keep telling me what is wrong, go fix it....he and Dean Cooper should be able to fix it. Going to the phones: Mike asks Morey - Loves Coach Adelman, wonders why we go through stretches of the games that we stop scoring and don't use Timeouts to stop oppponents runs as they catch up....is it part of Adelman's strategy to let players figure it out. Mike would like us to use more timeouts to stop giving up the leads... Morey - Yes, that is his strategy, has had to go to more of a dictate what we are doing than he wants in Houston which makes us more predictable, says our personel is not necessarily set up well to read and react especially with Tmac out..... Rashad asks Morey: Says Kobe has proven to be the Clutch player in the league.......question is....are the Rockets looking to win the west or looking for top 4 spots for HC. Morey : Wants homecourt, says there are 9 teams going for 8 spots.....says getting HC in the playoffs is the teams goal and then advancing...getting deep into the playoffs. Not that concerned with winning the WC in the season. Says 1 is better than 2, but more concerned with being healthy and having HC in the first round. Ocho Texto asks: Says he is not concerned about Wafer - bad games ......as long as he doesn't show any Rafer inconsistencies.... Morey interupts says Rafer has been terrific.....during this stretch and needs to boost him from the haters in this town. Ocho - Concerning Battier, why haven't we incorporated his post game into the game more often? Morey: Shane is effective, but it needs to be on a smaller defender, someone he can get deep position on......because of Shane Tmac and Ron get to play weaker defenders. Team's bread and butter is still Yao on the block and Tmac's playmaking Sly asks: Says he watched Sacremento when Adelman was there, and said at each position they had better shooters than Houston has...and it spread the floor better, and had a higher BBall IQ for that particular offense. Morey says: He does think that a lot of the components for the offense are missing here, but one of Adelmans strengths is that he can coach to any style....and the key is a big that is a great passer, not Yao's fault he is not as good a passer as Divac and Webber......but Sacremento was not as good defensively as Houston....says that Adelman will emphasize whatever each team's strength is and go to it. Host - What about the next stretch of the schedule. Morey - We want to go 2-0 on this trip, GS is banged up and the Clipppers are struggling......then a big game against Denver Tuesday the 16th.....a unique promotion, you get a ticket on Rockets.com.....if you are one of the first 3k you get a Scola WIG (WTF?)..... Morey : Scola is far superior to Varajao not only in game but in hair as well.... Morey: Talking about Scola's hair....Morey found out he has a head band in there..... End of conversation, my fingers hurt. DD
Thanks, DaDa. I like Morey's thinking on this next road trip. 2-0 would be a great confidence booster, especially with Tracy out.
Thanks for the recap, DD Now, DM, go resign Deke and teams like Memphis won't drive in for layups all game long...
