I was telling a good friend of mine today about how my son was the reason I got to see "the shot". Although sleepy he didn't want to go to bed and the Rockets had about two minutes left, so I figured we'd watch it. Before you know it he was wide awake, I was yelling like a fool and ultimately T-Mac provided us both a very good night sleep.
I thought it was over. I was like..nice Tmac made a 3 and got a 4 point play..then I quit watching..then someone imed me and said we're down by 2..and I said you're lying..and I checked...and saw the ending.
I was taking my remedial spelling class while watching the game. Keep GARM CIVIL!! Join the Coalition!
I turned to my friend and said, "Well, I guess it's time for the best comeback in Rockets history." Amazingly, it turned out to be true.
I watched the whole game. After the amazing happened, I was so hyped that I stayed up till 4 am watching sportscenters, reading messageboards, articles, everything.... anyways, I stayed up so late that I didn't show up to work today
I was stuck in a class, following the game on the Chat. I couldn't believe my eyes when the words, "We win." finally appeared on the screen.
i called my cousin when the game was over yelling.. his like what happen.. he thought a fight had happen bc he turned off the game with 1 min left.. but i told him and he wouldnt beleive it and told him to go see the replays.. haha
I was at school working on a paper (it's finals time, you know). Took a study break and sat down in the student lounge to watch the fourth quarter. Had small chat with another student who was rooting for the Spurs. The Yao dunk and Padgett steal got me going, but I was fairly laidback when T-Mac started popping them. It just seemed comical really, the way he swished them and got the foul on Duncan. Not one second did I think they could do it. I was positive the final shot would miss. When it went in, I totally freaked. I'm so glad I got to see that.
I was reading a book/watching the game. Finished a chapter and looked up and saw us down with a minute left and figured we'd lose. Saw the put back slam by Yao and steal and dunk by Padgette then went brush my teeth. Walked back into my living room and saw McGrady shooting his free throw for the 4 point play and sat back down to finish watching. When he hit the last three I went ape****, running around my apartment screaming and rolling on the floor. Then I went to bed.
I was thinking about turning the tv off when the Rox were down 10 and I was feeling a bit depressed. It was going to be painful because they played hard and pretty well against a great Spurs team. I decided to keep the game on though because well... I was too lazy to turn it off. I was watching while working on my computer and fortunately I witnessed something unimaginable. Thanks T-Mac!
My roommate and I were also switching back and forth between the game and the Replacements in the living room. When there were like 44 seconds left and the Rockets were down, he got up and left, so I turned the tv off and went to my room. I put the game on just to see Charles and Kenny after the game and got on my computer. Then I saw the magic happen.
My wife and myself were sitted in front of our TV in the living room watching the game. I almost chickened out but my wife refused to give up or flip the channel. She refused to lose and kept hoping for a magical finish. It happened. I never knew my wife could pump her fist like Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan. I was impressed with her clenched fist pumping form. We did not hug though - we played it like we have been here before. We did not even talk about the game afterwards. Bring on the Mavs....
I sold me tickets to Rocketman95. I hope he enjoyed the game. I did watch the game on my 55" HDTV though.
It's funny. I stayed tuned only because it was a TNT game and it was in Hi-Def. Like everyone else I just watched knowing that in the end we would lose. When he cut it to 5 I was thinking "You know, this could happen." but I didn't beleive it, not with this team. But when he cut it to 2 I was on the edge of my seat, when he stole the ball I was pumping my fist and when he sank the final 3, my body just took over. I leaped off the couch and started doing this weird touchdown stagger-walk. I'm all staggering around my living room pumping my fist and trying to quiet because my baby just went to sleep. Funny stuff! Reminded me of the old days when Dream would just will the team to an undeserved win. Now what I want to see are the reactions from the Orlando fans who are still trying to convince themselves that losing T-Mac was actually a good thing.
I started the "I Believe" chants in the chatroom after the 1st 3 he hit and never stopped believing...
