So excited about Griffin and the draft. This gives a little more visibility into our roster. I have come up with an 11 man roster. Cato, Collier Mo/Cwebb, KT Griffin, Bull, Langhi, Tmo Cat Wink, Norris I am assuming we sign Webber or Mo and trade Williams. We are set at SF. A few questions remain. We still need another big body and a guard. Coleson might fit, since the other 3 will play 100 mins. Can Tmo play the 2? We still have no answer for C, but few do. Pig Miller, report to Houston. Looks like 51 wins to me. ------------------ "Chucky who? I thought we were talking about basketball?" Charles Barkley
Mo Evans is available to sign. Have pity on him and give the Longhorn a job. Or sign Felipe Lopez, he can play the SG or PG spot and should come cheap. Only problem is he may want to sign with a team that allows him to start. Sign Marc Jackson and put Cato on the IR since he'll be there anyway. ------------------
Forget Webber, he's not coming here. This is the the likely roster for next year: Francis/Norris Mobley/Colson Cato/Collier Griffin/langhi/Morris Taylor/Thomas/Bullard Bullard or Williams will be on the IR. I know we'd like to trade Cato and I'd trade his ass for a years supply of mosquito repellent right about now, but he'll proabably end up staying a Rocket. ------------------ A desirous Mo Taylor is better than a prude Chris Webber. Seems like we need at least a few veterens. I was looking over a free agent list the other day with a friend and a few came to mind. Maybe someone like a dana barros or hershey hawkins at a cheap price.... I dunno and am going to look over the list again when I get a chance. Maybe there is some quality veteren out there. ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"

this is my lineup what if we sign sabonis from portland not the best center but better then cato Francis/Norris Mobley/Colson Sabonis/Cato/Collier Griffin/Bullard/Moris Taylor/Thomas/ Alot of people might disagree with me Langhi Will be gone Williams will be traded for a draft pick I think we could pick up 54 wins this season ------------------
I still think now that we have a chance at resigning Dream. There wouldn't of been a chance if we got Webber but now that we aren't going after him we can get Dream back. However, I hear that Dream won't play on this team if Cato is still being paid more than he is. But the Rockets are the best team with money that they could give to Dream. ------------------ Stevierebel [This message has been edited by Stevierebel (edited June 30, 2001).]
Sean Colson is not a SG, he's only 6'0 so there's no way he'd be able to get his shot off. I think we signed him last year as insurance when either Stevie or Moochie were banged up. Some possible guard free agent signings(assuming Shandon isn't back with the team): Eddie Robinson(Char): 6'9, 17.9 min, 7.4 pts, 3.3 rebs, .9 asts (prob, more of a 3) Jim Jackson(Clev): 6'6,29.2 min, 10.3 pts, 3.7 rebs, 2.9 asts Felipe Lopez(Minn): 6'5, 23.6 min, 8.1 pts, 3.4 rebs, 1.6 asts Stephen Jackson(NJ): 6'8, 21.6 min, 8.2 pts, 2.7 rebs, 1.8 asts, top 10 steals per 48 min. Bryant Stith(Bos): 6'5, 32.1 min, 9.7 pts, 3.6 rebs, 2.2 asts, top 10 steals per turnover Vernon Maxwell(Dal) : 15.6 min, 5 pts, 1.5 rebs, 1.3 asts ------------------ [This message has been edited by RocketFan007 (edited June 30, 2001).]
I agree we can do alot better than Colson. Cedric Ceballos, Jaren Jackson, are also some others to consider. But if we don't sign another guard I'm sure Morris, Langhi, Bull, or Griffin can play some 2. What I do think is crucial is another 4/5. I remember Taylor playing C last year because of so many injuries. There was a C that played for Pepperdine last year or the year before named Nick Shepperd. He is 6'11" 275 and scored about 5 or 6 points and just as many rebounds. He plays in the CBA and has gotten better. He's a great banger, something we don't have on our team anymore. I hope Rudy reads this and looks him up. ------------------
what about nazar mohomed 6-10 240. he unlike kato has proven himself in games and is not injury prone. i think he is a better prospect than marc jackson. i like either felipe lopez or steve jackson as a backup 2. i would consider marc jackson but he is injury prone. all would be cheap provided we dumped the salaries of olajuwon and rogers. mo is good, but we need a proven back to the basket player. ohh and give langhi a shot to produce. ------------------ "The Great One"
Sabonis is way to old and think how much he would slow down our fast brake. ------------------ "Instinctly u recognize things, now take advantage of what u just recognized!".. Hakeem..
I don't think Sabonis will slow down the break? He will just wait at the other end for us to come back on defense. What's LMAO? ------------------ "Chucky who? I thought we were talking about basketball?" Charles Barkley
Barring any surprises: 1: Francis, Norris 2: Mobley, Anderson 3: Griffin, Morris, Langhi 4: Taylor, Thomas 5: Dream, Cato, Collier IR: Williams This assumes that FAs Norris, Anderson, Taylor, and Dream resign and that Bullard retires. I am not opposed to waiving Williams and resigning Bullard. This also assumes that Carlos Rogers' option is not exercised by the club. I like Rogers but he would make more than he is worth in cap space. Resigning FAs Dream and Taylor may not be tenable, since both will likely chase the highest $$$. We can only be hopeful here. ------------------
