I won't miss those annoying dj's they had, but I did look forward to the daily 420 break.

With call letters like that, you'd think they would try some sort of comedy format.

That's wild. You are right...it's gone.

I wonder if it's just a publicity stunt?

Good riddance. I'm still pissed about what they did to Stevens and Pruett. I listened to that show for almost 20 years.

I haven't listened to KLOL since they ripped them apart. It was just never the same.

I actually thought that was one of their better moves. They were nothing more than Stern clones. The only problem was replacing them with those syndicated yahoos.

The difference being that they were actually funny. They've been around longer than Stern (as Hudson and Harrigan), so who is cloning who?

KLOL goes from classic rock to Latino format

11:41 AM CST on Friday, November 12, 2004

    From 11 News Staff Reports

KLOL, 101.1 FM announced Friday that station has changed formats. The station switched from a classic rock format to a Latino music format branded as Mega 101.

The station's web site was listed as under construction, but KLOL's former morning show hosts Walton and Johnson announced on their web site that they were informed Thursday night of the change.

The radio hosts stated on WaltonandJohnson.com that, "Thursday night Walton and Johnson were informed by lower-level management sources via a last-minute phone call that there would be no Walton and Johnson Show tomorrow. In it's place would be Hispanic music programs."

ZZ Top can't be happy. That's probably the only station I've ever heard them on.

93.7 plays them on the hour. Plus they have the best morning show in town.

My former band, Global Village, was in there pushing our CD on the last day they were together. I forget who was who, but the tall guy(Stevens?) was being a total ******* during the breaks while the other could not have been nicer. He also left about 30 minutes before the show was over. We had no idea until later that weekend that he would not be back.

You need to start listening to KTSU on Friday afternoons and KPFT on Saturdays and Sundays.

Other than those stations at those times, I agree with you!

Regular radio sucks. I heart XM Radio.
