    Heads up! Pretty sweet deal.

I currently have a post-paid AT&T account and plan on picking one up and inserting my sim. For $100, it's definitely a great replacement phone. It's way better than any cheap knock-off Android you can get for $100. (This is OFF CONTRACT). Sure, the specs aren't great but it's pretty well-known Windows phones don't need great specs to perform smoothly. Also, the press release mentions it has "4G" but in reality it's just HSPA+, not LTE.

Phone also includes "HERE Drive" and "Here Maps" which is completely offline based navigation. So even when I'm done using it as a replacement device it will serve a purpose as an offline GPS or just a decent MP3 player.

If anyone has the sister phone (T-mobile's Nokia Lumia 521), I'd like to hear your opinion on it.

The Nokia 521 is available from Tmobile at the same price...

    Overall pretty mediocre phone.

I've heard this argument a ton of times, and I find myself not agreeing with it. I can find about 95% of the apps I want/need from iOS on WP8. That other 5% is far from a deal breaker, and to be fair I'd have the same problem finding those apps on android as well.

My beef with Windows Phone is that they are starting to get stagnant in innovation. They are sort of going the way iOS does and keeping a walled garden and not changing much from revision to revision. I like how it's a protected OS unlike the **** show android is, but I hate how it's becoming more and more like iOS (completely closed platform, hard to hack, lacks innovation, updates are small and incremental, your phone is a brick after two years) and I hate how unless you buy a nokia you will be missing out on key features and even some apps! With that said, I'm getting the 1020 as my next phone. Who can pass up a 41 megapixel camera with a xeon flash?

Aio wireless, and Tmobile offer plans with data for as low as $35 a month including data.

I've had an iPhone before, but I'm currently an Android user.

But for the last 3 months, I've been using a Windows phone as a backup cause I cracked the screen on my S3 and was waiting for my contract to allow me to get a new one. (got the HTC One)

So.... I actually kind of liked the phone and the OS, but my goodness I hated the app support. It was the number one reason I couldn't wait to get back to Android.

They're going to be hurting until they solve that problem. (interestingly, I used to feel the same about android but I think they've made up the difference at this point thanks to the Galaxy and Nexus lines)

As far as apps, I guess there are many apps that I'm going to miss coming from the Android world. Beats the **** out of the dumbphone I am using for now since my HTC One X+ broke, and I returned the S4 (No touchwiz for me, don't suggest nova launcher, it only changes the drawer & homescreens, not the framework).

I personally just need Microsoft Exchange support, twitter, a reddit client, and a browser. I think they have an unofficial instagram app too called "instance".

    Nice. Thanks for that link.
I'm personally just waiting for the next Nexus. I'm not interested in the Google Play Edition phones.

I'd get the T-Mo version but I'll be on a business trip in a few weeks in an area where it's AT&T (hspa+, LTE), Verizon (3G), or T-Mobile EDGE.

Windows Phone isn't very good. It's lagging in functionality behind and the app selection is terrible.
