I am new to Houston and am trying to become a Rockets fans because I foresee spending the rest of my life here, but I can NOT stand to watch Cato play. Does anyone else notice that Cato just lollygags around the court and never hustles? For example, I remember a play last night that broke down like this: Either Cat or Steve comes away with a steal and start a fast break. Most everyone starts runnin' with them, except Cato who stays at the opponent's basket playing a "prevent" defense of sorts. Well, the fast break gets turned around quickly (missed shot, steal, I can't remember) and then the Sonics are coming right at Cato and he gets scored on. It seems that if he had all of that time to play defense he could of at least played a little 'D. Oh well... I guess there is always next year. Maybe we could get lucky as a franchise and get Yao Ming from China

3 reasons why I hate this thread and threads such as these: 1. Bashing Cato on the BBS is getting lame now days 2. He does hustle, and does alot more work out there then he used to. 3. Our guards are the ones that should be hustling more to keep their man out of the paint in the first place. Cato can't defend everyone.

What's with the rolleyes? I was making a joke about the fact he took more shots last night, than he usually gets in 2-3 games. The joke was referring to some of the posters on this board that are always looking for something new to bash & complain about. You wouldn't happen to be one of them, would you?
Agree 100%. I imagine it must be wearying to go after every opposing player that go through our guards like they're a sieve. A little defensive pride on the part of Francis, Norris and Mobley would do wonders.

welcome newbie. Cato has improved significantly since last year. He had the starting position last year and never hussltled. But now he is having to compete for the Starting position against Yao, and he has been much...much better this year.
