I live only a few miles from the site of most of these shootings. I guess running in the wee hours of the morning in my neighborhood is no longer an option.
Hopefully none of our tourists are advised to go there for night life. There will be so much going on downtown and at Uptown Park. I'll be hanging out trying to get into the Maxim and Playboy party.
I hate Richmond. The few times I've stayed out late in that part of town have sucked major ass. So many punks blasting loud ass music and drag racing all over the place. You worry if you look out your window that some punk will take it the wrong way. If I had it my way, we would declare Martial Law just on the Richmond strip so we can find and weed out all the punks who are packing heat.
Exactly. Once you are 21 you realize how bad the Richmond strip sucks, and how many other cool bars there are around town. It used to be ok growing up, but now it has turned into gangster heaven... full of 18 year old thugs, wanna be gangstas, and rice rockets who blast their stereos and try to look cool cruisin'.... um I'll pass. This always happens to cool bars/clubs in H-town as well. They are cool for a while and the 'hip' places to go, then months later they are thugged out for whatever reason. I dont understand why this happens.... (good example is Spy downtown) I cant believe the Super Bowl is promoting it as the place to go... Great article by the way.....
Excellent point Drewdog. And I'll get flamed for this, but let me state that I'm not a racist. I can usually tell when a club is 'thugged' out and no longer cool is when I go in and I see a bunch of Asian wannabe gangstas hanging around. Now I know there's Mexican gangsters, black gangsters, but for some reason, here in H-Town, the Asian gangsters usually signify to me that the place has gone downhill. Anyway, there's always exceptions to every rule, but I use this as my rule of thumb. Perfect example is the one Drew pointed out: Spy

Funny, but you left one thing out White Gangsters....there are really tough......they usually ride around in their parents Mercedes or BMWs blasting gangster rap....its crazy....there is this one gang in West U.....I think they are the West U Roughies.......man they are bad....they could definantly do some damage, except their curfew is at 11pm.
