    here a quote from ESPN's NBA2Night:

"How popular the guy(yao ming) is , his popularity is off the chart.
Last week a web chat in China, 10 million people in China logged
on... jammed... and shut down the server"

hey, same thing is happening to the video section of
    The_Ultimate_Yao_Ming_Fan_Club

another quote from Tim Legler from ESPN's NBA2Night:

"I'm telling you, in a couple of years, Yao Ming might have the most
popular jersey in the league that you see in the streets. He might
also be the biggest attraction in the league for opposing teams."

another quote from Sean Elliot from ESPN's NBA2Night:

"I think he has all the ingredients. What we're watching now, I
don't know if this is gonna happen again in our lifetime. This guy is
7 feet, 5 inches! I have to remind you that because he's so agile,
    he's showing so many skills, we're highlighting a guy who's 7'5", you
    can see him!"

you can see all these quotes and extra highlights of yao in the
Houston vs Sacramento [LIVE] video file.

I think that crushes the myth that not enough Chinese fans have internet access for all-star voting.

Well then I guess Ming will be the starting center in the West for the All Star game this year and many years to come.

When do they show the updates to the voting?

No voting result has been released yet. I think there's way too many YM votes they're wondering what to do about it. I'm sure it ain't easy to just tell America that Yao's got 10 million votes. People will start writing stupid articles all over again and players will start talking thrash.

I think the same thing is happening here. All these new fans are crashing the BBS server.

Good to be popular, I guess.

It just amazes me that Legler, Elliiott and Aldridge have changed their tunes so quickly. At the beginning of the season, they were saying that it was going to take Yao two or three seasons to get adjusted, but he seems to be doing just fine.

Now everyone is saying that Yao is going to be the next great player in the league, etc., etc., etc. It's great being a Rockets fan and having been on board from the beginning.

Anyone think it'll be real funny if the entire Rockets starting lineup got voted in as the starting lineup for the AllStar game?

If that happened, Stern would be grinning ear to ear cause that would mean that China is on the NBA bandwagon. Ka-ching!!!!
