Light, and underwhelming, slate of games tonight. Bobcats @ Hawks, 6:30 Pistons @ Bucks, 7:00 Knicks @ Grizzlies, 7:00 on TNT Cavs @ Suns, 8:00 Magic @ Warriors, 9:30 on TNT
Blame TNT for it being underwhelming. There were too many good games to follow yesterday and it's barren tonight because TNT doesn't want any distraction from their own. I'm going to the gym.
Too be fair, Knicks-Grizzlies might have been interesting if not for Zach Randolph's interesting. To be honest, I don't even watch basketball as much as I used to. The lockout really gave me some distance from the sport, it's a mixed bag I suppose. I never realized how much time I devoted to following basketball, but it was nice feeling like I was a part of something.
I'm taking all the home teams just because Orlando played last night. Otherwise, I'd take Orlando and the rest of the home teams.
Unless Baron Davis is somehow the second coming of Chris Paul, the Knicks will have to trade Carmelo or Amare. All their role players are terrible and their point guards cannot do anything to control the game or run the offense. I think the Knicks will more likely trade Amare than Carmelo.
Rudy Gay's ballin' tonight -- 11/14 for 26 pts at the end of 3. Moments ago, he blocked Tyson Chandler at the rim and then high-tailed it down the floor & nailed a three. Scary thing is, the best is yet to come... he's only 25 years old.
Kieff Morris w/ 10 pts (2-2 3PT) & 6 boards in 12 min off the bench for PHX. Meanwhile, Marcus just climbed into his sleeping bag on the floor of a La Quinta Inn and began reading the scouting report for RGV's next opponent, the Canton Charge.
Kyrie Irving outplayed Steve Nash tonight. He should be rookie of the month. Things changed in a flash in Cleveland, from night to day, from desolate to bright future. That team is leaps and bound better considering it's still shocking to remember they lost 26 in a row last year. On the other side, the Suns have a dark future if they don't trade or shut Nash off. No defined direction, bad contracts, not high lottery bound, no assets and a declining Nash that would only get you a third of what he could when they should had pulled the trigger selling high on him two years ago. Has he talked about when he is retiring? He still has a couple of serviceable years left but why waste them on the Suns.
Dwight ties the free throw attempt record at 34 with Wilt and he's about to get a 40 and 20 game... if he could even hit 70% of his free throws...
just in case anyone missed Shaq's slip up that the crew kept referencing throughout the night. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rH7lFRmKfuU?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
