He's hitting RHP really well (.800+ OPS) but has been abysmal against LHP. It would be nice to have a platoon for him.

You want to platoon Springer? Not a chance.
If Springer is out for any amount of time this is the move IMO. Grossman isn't going to cut it.
And play him when? He's a left handed hitter so doesn't make an ideal platoon with Rasmus. There's not many spot starts between spelling Springer...
