Let me explain what i saw tonight. I saw a Rockets team who acted desparately and played their hearts out. Unfortunatley, no matter how hard they try, they have players on the team that cannot get it done in tough physical games like these...a.k.a.....Walt Williams, who, in a game where penetration is basically the only way to score, is so slow and in a way uncordinated becuase he can;t move his feet.

Every time he drives to the basket it is an adventure as to what will happen next. Will he fumble the ball, or push off and get called for a foul, or get the shot blocked just as he is stumbling? And when he does find a way to score on a drive...the viewing rockets fan expresses a sigh of relief....and saying in his mind how lucky Walt was.

Walt Williams would have been a great back-up forward on our championship caliber teams.
    Notice the key word "back-up."

Kenny Thomas is another player who can't hang in these tough games. His quiet personality and limited post game give him no chance to thrive.

    OUT.

The Rockets lost, they don't like the rain they want some sunny days.

Lay off Kt, 2 years in this league,What was he a second round pick? Most 2nd round picks arent even in the league. Im not even sure, it might have been the first round, but bottome line is, no one expected much from this guy, he has gone beyond our expectations. He has been in the league 2 years and is a decent players. How good could he be in 4 years.

Bill Russel once said "Hustle is the Supreme ability"

KT plays as hard as any Rocket I know, and if you look some lazier player getting paid 42 mil is doing a lot less that KT b**** and moan about him for awhile. I didnt see Cato out there blocking shots and rebounding, isnt that what we gave him that huge contract for?

The only guy I'm hatin on is Walt, and he and Cato are the only 2 I've hated on at all this year. I'm still behind Rudy and everyone else. And yes, KT was a first round pick, somewhere in the 20's I believe. I think he can be a great role player coming off the bench in the future for this team... he's just a little undersized, kind of between a SF and a PF. But he does hustle a lot, which is something you can't say about Cato.

By that math, lay off Cato. He isn't getting paid as much as "DNP-CD" Bryant Reeves.

Kenny Thomas was drafted #22, and is only 9 months older than Mo Taylor.

I could really care less where they were drafted, I just want them to play well. If one player hustles, but is simply not as good as the other player, who doesn't hustle as much, I'll take the one who's the better player. (think Chris Webber vs. Pig Miller).

That's all great if he's exceeded expectations, but when the expectations are that low, if you succeed on any level, you will exceed the expectations. Kenny Thomas is a backup player. And he's not a good backup for Mo Taylor, because of the many similarities-mediocre at best defense, offense with range. Give me Carlos Rogers behind Mo Taylor over Kenny Thomas every day of the week.

I like KT for 10 or 12 minutes a game, but because of his height and limited verticalness, he is just doesn't match up with the Spurs. I think we would have been better off with Rogers playing more minutes last night, or even using Bullard at the 4 for a few minutes to pull Duncan away from the lane. His defense wouldn't have mattered, it's not like KT was stopping him anyway.

Not to defend Bryant Reeves, but he didn't play last night because of "the flu." A lot of players are getting this lately. Fizer just came back from the flu; Mo had it recently; the whole league's getting sick. The way the Rockets have played lately, I'm coming down with something too.
