Savage is the best QB on this team. Sua-Fil'o is a starter and has looked impressive all pre-season. CJ is a stud blocker and made plenty of huge catches all of last season. Stop being a troll.

Were we watching the same games? My recollection is CJ was injured for a large part of last season, but maybe I'm off base. I just remember seeing Graham & Griffin a LOT more than CJ.

Also, please go look at his stats. The dude made like 5 catches. "Plenty of huge catches all of last season" = an absurd statement. I like the guy and hope he plays well this year, but he made no impact to this team last year.

You have lost your ever lovin' mind boy.

Stick to watching the Longhorns, your delusions fit in better there.

In addition to what Mkieke said, XSF barely played this preseason and he was battling for his starting job in camp.

Covington took Nix Job is how I look at that cut. Overachieved past the Underachiever straight from the get go as he's been everything Texans wanted Nix to be..just my opinion obviously. I was hoping Nix would show more but oh well..maybe he'll learn from this

CJ had 4 catches for 28 yards last year.

Also, Fiedorowicz had 5 penalties for 35 yards. So apart from decent blocking, he was a negative on the field. Scolalist seems like to the troll in this situation.

Stats don't lie. Savage out performed Hoyer & Mallet largely with a group of guys getting cut this weekend. One more year too develop and learn how to lead a team and he could be a legit starting NFL QB.

I see no surprises so far with who has been cut other than Nix. Nix being cut actually gives me more faith in Obrien not wasting time on guys that aren't worth the work. Nix didn't earn a spot, and got clearly out played by Covington who've they decided will be more versatile in playing nose and end. I just didn't think Covington's progression would be pushed ahead so quickly.

Brown - Had Flashes but severely lacked fundamentals.
Finau - Had a good TC and played well enough, needs more development. Psquad eligible IMO
    C. Moore - Made the TC roster from a tryout, did some things. Raw, Psquad eligible.
Feiler - Really showed nothing. I don't know if there's enough to put him on the Psquad.
Nix - Gave him an entire healthy TC to show his worth, and he got drastically out played by a 6th rounder. I would think gone for good, but possible Psquad.
Hilliard - Hard nosed thumper, Needs work, but has shown a lot of potential. Psquad priority probably.
Bollough - Lacks the athleticism of Tuggle, Had a good Camp though, Numbers game. Probably picked up on waivers. Otherwise, I'd like him back on the Psquad.
    D. Johnson - Shows glimpses of speed, but doesn't apply it to his play. Better options available.
EZ Nwachukwu - Has all the physical traits, minus the catching ability. Psquad if he makes it through waivers.
Worthy - Has shown a lot, but is very raw. I think he could make next years roster, Psquad priority I would believe.
Ferentz - Just isn't that good of a player. Too small. Maybe Psquad because the Coaches like him, not a ton of potential.
Deaderick - Showed nothing, did nothing. Gone.

Ten more cuts to go, Pretty interesting so far.

Wilfork told us this without telling us this. When asked about Nix he responded in a if I have nothing nice to say I will say nothing at all type comment. When asked about Covington he actually called him a smart professional football mind that will be a good player in this league. So the writing was on the wall for Nix.

Effectively, yes. Someone his size shouldn't be getting pushed around the way he was fairly often.

So by releasing Hilliard could that be making a spot for Charles James?

Refreshing to see that merit, not draft status determines your spot. Cut your losses and move on.

As a whole, this pick made way more sense at the time compared to Sam Montgomery. That made zero sense.

I really thought Finua would make the team and Bullough deserved a spot. If KMart made the team in favor of one of them I'd be bummed
